Moulin de Malicorne is located in the scenic Vallée de Courtineau. Just down the road there are ancient troglodyte dwellings, a 14th-century troglodyte chapel, and 4th-century tombs.
The Moulin straddles the border of two charming villages--Ste. Maure de Touraine and St. Epain. Ste. Maure's town square is two miles away--an easy bike ride from the moulin. Famous for its goat cheese and its outdoor book fairs, Ste. Maure boasts several excellent restaurants, delightful bakeries, banks (with ATM machines), and a bustling open-air farmer's market every Friday morning. In town, you can explore the ruins of a 14th-century château.
The Moulin is about half an hour's drive from major medieval towns, wineries, and chateau found in and around Tours, Poitiers, Chinon, and Loches, all with shopping and other modern attractions. And the entire region is filled with fabulous wineries, quaint villages, and world-famous chateau like Chenonceau and Villandry
