The whole family will enjoy The Cape Cod Rail Trail, 2 miles from the house with a bike shop and rental at the entrance and we're also 10 minutes to Bay Beaches.
Close to ocean beaches, golf, tennis, shopping and the Cape Cod Bike Path.
With views of the water from nearly every window, or just relax in the hammock with a good book and listen the fish jump. Elbow Pond is a beautiful natural setting and source of water for a Cranberry Bog.
My family is from Cape Cod and we have a long standing tradition dating back to 1638. I currently live and work in New York where I am a theatrical technician working on Broadway and television for more than 30 years. I hope to retire one day and move to the Cape,
Brian Penney purchased this house in 1997
I have always wanted a house on a pond on Cape Cod. It is the perfect opposite to my high pace life of the city. With a well stocked refrigerator, I can spend days on Elbow Pond and escape not only the city, but the crowds on Cape Cod seem to disappear with just a few quick turns of the road.
Peaceful, serene setting, yet close enough to shopping, beaches and restaurants to be considered smart and convenient. Hidden, yet easy to access.
This home was wonderfully located in private, peaceful setting on a beautiful, small lake in a nice neighborhood. Beautiful views of a cranberry bog from its private dock. We spent mornings and evenings sitting on the dock, watching wildlife including turtles galore and herons. The home is in our favorite town of Brewster with a short 10-15 minute drive to the beach and easily accessible to all areas of the Cape because of its mid cape location. The home itself was inviting, thoughtfully decorated with a beach/cape theme, cozy and very well stocked kitchen. Beautiful upstairs deck and downstairs patio. We cooked on the grill several nights. Our kids are 17, 23 and 25 and all enjoyed the home and its location. Brian, the owner, was quick to respond to all questions before and during our stay. I would definitely recommend renting this home.
My family enjoyed this house for a week last summer. Spent most every day soaking up Sea Street Beach and ate almost every flavor of ice cream at Kate's Seafood and Ice Cream. The house is cute, convenient, clean and comfortable. Brian called the first day to see how we were doing. He left a list of great restaurants, beaches, shopping (Chatham!) and other fun stuff. The one day it rained we were cozy on the covered porch playing a new board game - Pandemic. The kids put down their phones and ipads. We all unplugged and unwound. Already talking about going back next summer. The lobster rolls at Coby's are a must! Enjoy.
We enjoyed the imaginativve litle house. Perfect for three and posssibly a guest. Beautiful setting. Dawback -- as lovely as the pond is you can't swim in it, at least near the house. Custome service fine.
We had a spectacular time and were blessed with perfect weather for the entire two weeks. The new downstairs bedroom is terrific, and the new deck is fabulous. Over the years we've rented at Elbow Pond, we've especially enjoyed being able to walk right down to swim in the pond (when we're not simply lazing in the hammock, listening to the frogs at night, simply soaking up the view, or gazing at the stars. On top of that you've always been amazingly prompt and helpful any time we've had the slightest question. Thanks again for a perfect vacation!
The property was everything which the owner had said. It was clean, tidy, well-maintained with everything needed to make our stay on the Cape a very pleasant experience.
It was in a lovely location overlooking the pond and once we had got our bearings where we were in relation to other towns it was very easy to get there.
Brian was extremely helpful and provided a wealth of information, both prior to arriving and during our stay, to ensure we did not experience any problems and had a relaxing holiday. Nothing was too much trouble, he even contacted us at the hotel where we were staying in New York and again whilst at his home.
I would have no hesitation in recommending this to anyone who wanted to stay in a quiet, relaxing environment, but within easy reach of towns and beaches for those of a more active disposition.
Center of Cape Cod: The house is close to shopping, golf, beaches and restaurants. It is also off the last double lane section of highway on route 6. Beyond exit 9, it becomes a 2 lane road. Very handy in high traffic situations.
Golf: Some of the finest Golf Links are on Cape Cod with views of the ocean from the fairways.
