Relax inside in the open concept living room (with a fireplace), 4-season room, dining area and fully-equipped kitchen. Relax outside around the outdoor fire-pit or lounge in the 5-person outdoor hot tub located under the deck. Enjoy the foliage or watch the snow fall while listening to your favorite music on the outdoor speakers. Ice skating on the lake and skiing very close by. Stay connected with Internet and cable TV. Planning ahead for the summer-you can look forward to a tranquil morning canoe ride, an afternoon nap in the 2-person hammock, sunbathing on the lounge chairs on the private beach, eating dinner outdoors on the upper deck or lower patio and a beautiful sunset from the end of the dock!

Our home is located in the Lakes Region of New Hampshire in Locke Lake Colony in the town of Center Barnstead. Locally you can enjoy Barnstead Old Home Day, Pittsfield Balloon Rally, farmer's markets and summer concerts. Travel 15 minutes for hiking at Mount Major, mountain biking at Devil's Den in New Durham, or activities on Lake Winnipesaukee at Alton Bay. Tax-free outlet shopping in Tilton is a 45 minute drive. The White Mountains and NH Seacoast are just over 1 hour away. Craft Fairs in Alton, Meredith and Wolfeboro are held throughout the summer. Family skiing/snowboarding/tubing at Gunstock or Pat's Peak are within 30-45 minutes. Snowmobile trails are accessible from the lake.

Locke Lake Colony: This home is located in Locke Lake Colony. You will have guest passes to use the tennis courts, 6-hole golf course, either of the 2 outdoor pools, marina, and playground areas. You also have beach privileges on Half-Moon Lake. The lake is ideal for quiet canoe rides in the early morning or evening hours. Tubing and water-skiing are popular sports on the lake too. There is an abundance of fish-we've even caught large-mouth bass right from the end of our dock.

Activities in the Lakes Region: The Lakes Region of New Hampshire is a great area to visit in any season. Gunstock Mountain has mountain biking, a skate park, scenic lift rides, horseback riding, down-hill/cross-country skiing, snowboarding and tubing. Castle in the Clouds in Moultonborough offers spectacular views of Lake Winnipesaukee and some picturesque hiking trails. The Squam Lakes Natural Science Center in Holderness has live animals in natural exhibits and beautiful wooded trails and gardens. You can take a cruise on the Mt. Washington or ride the Winnipesaukee Scenic Railroad to get a closer look at Lake Winnipesaukee. If you enjoy the races, N.H. International Speedway in Loudon is under 20 miles from the house. There's plenty of entertainment for children with water parks, drive-in movies, go-karts, batting cages, arcades, and miniature golf close by.

Music and Theater: We are located less than 20 miles from the Meadowbrook Pavilion in Gilford and the Great Waters Music Festival in Wolfeboro. If you enjoy live theater you can travel 40 miles to Barnstormers Summer Theatre in Tamworth or to the many live theater options in Portsmouth, NH. The outdoor plays in Prescott Park in Portsmouth are worth the drive.

We just returned today from our week stay at this home. It was more than we could have ever imagined. The house was immaculate, had everything you could ever need and more. Our kids (4 and 2) had a blast and are sad to be home, and the adults had a wonderful time as well. Perfect for relaxing, hanging out and close enough to other things to do outside of the lake community. This listing doesn't even begin to do the house justice. We are all hoping to make this a yearly trip!!!! Thanks again!!!
