They ruined a nice weekend(Be Cautious)
So the house is nice, exactly as it looks in pictures. The beds were all made (minus the sheets which we had to put on and take off ourselves. There was left over food in the cabinets and fridge which was a bit odd but fine with us. One of the burners on the stove comes on when you cook with other burners and burnt one of us so that was the first big negative. I also asked two days before arrival as I was planning on doing a cookout after my big race (mooseman), is there propane in the tank? I was told absolutely. After the race food was all ready we were all there, only one thing missing, the promised propane on a Sunday, doesn't say to much for the owners word.
Now we were told to take out what we brought in which I unfortunately for got and we left our trash neatly in bags inside, thinking at the time that was what was required of us. (to be honest one 5 min cell phone conversation during a work day is not nearly enough instruction on how to manage the home, he needs more instructions for his guest in the future, maybe an email checklist?) So OK, take away part of 1/5 or whatever you want to call it of our security deposit for trash removal, which was my fault.(5 or 6 bags) However, after we left apparently the wind blew around the umbrella and broke the table. THE TABLE WAS FINE UPON DEPARTURE and I have all of my guest to attest to that. He sent me one email informing me of the non return and he has yet to respond to 1 of my four emails, quite professional i may add. However the house is in a beautiful setting and despite the negatives it was a good weekend.
Owner's Response: Please see the renter’s original e-mail below stating they had a great time with no complaints except the propane tank had run out.
The complaint the renter had would be his own fault for not reading the lease and the house instructions. These instructions were also verbalized to the guest. The lease states renters must remove their trash, we are on a mountain and the town does not provide trash collection.
I also waive the cleaning fee if guests leave the home as the found it. The cleaning fee was never charged and they asked about staying an extra night, this was also done at no charge.
The renters left 5 bags of trash and open pizza boxes with food and drink spilling over in the middle of the kitchen floor. This alone causes flies and ants. The instructions state to tie back the umbrella as you found it, so the wind does not pick it up and break the table. The table broke and had to be replaced , they tied the bungee cord to the deck railing. We had to purchase a new table.
