The Lachtal area is the second largest ski resort in Styria. The Lachtal ski area offers 40 km of slopes and 9 lifts. Numerous restaurants and ski huts invite you to après ski. There is a free shuttle bus from Oberwölz. Other ski resorts are Kreischberg, Grebenzen and Mrs Alpe and about 22 kilometers away from the cottage. Alternative winter activities are curling, cross country skiing, sleigh rides and tobogganing.
