Studio Furnished Apartment recently remodeled in the Colony Surf Building located at Diamondhead beach next to the world famous outrigger canoe club. Beautifully remodeled unit with large ceramic tile floors and modern lighting.

King size Murphy bed that folds up allowing spacious living room and television area. Couch and futon for children or additional adult sleeping.

Private beach with outdoor shower and ideal water conditions for children and senior swimmers. Unit comes with beach chairs, beach towels, linens, and fully equipped kitchen.

Outside wall opens entirely to partial ocean views and views of the famous Diamondhead monument and Crater. Warm trade winds and open air provide comfortable living year round.

Famous Kapiolani Park is across the street and nightclubs and excellent restaurants are within a single blocks walk. Walk to the Zoo, aquarium, and ten minute walk to Waikiki beach.

The building and surrounding area is populated primarily by local homeowners but tourist activity is a short walk.

The Colony surf, once a hotel, was featured on the 'Rich and Famous' series as one of the world's best hotels.

Wonderful vacation spot

My husband and I had a wonderful vacation staying in this unit. It was bright and spacious - much larger than most studio units we have found. It was amazing to just walk out the door, down to the beach and just swim, snorkel or laze around. Such a great protected beach area and quiet. We loved the proximity to all necessary amenities but the quiet of being away from the hub of activity. The farmers market at Kapiolani College meant we had amazing fresh fruit and vegetables every Saturday morning. Bus service basically to the door. The owner was responsive and very helpful. The other folks staying in the condos were wonderfully friendly and warm. We definitely hope to return in October to celebrate our 25th anniversary!

Perfect Apartment in Best Building

Lovely spacious apartment with marble floors, elegant furniture, good kitchen and bathroom, very comfortable. Colony Surf has its own lovely sandy beach which is uncrowded and safe for all levels of swimmers and children. Very professional Reception staff. The building is next door to Kaimana Beach and Aqua Lotus and in my opinion is better than both these hotels. I would not hesitate to return. Having a rental car spot included in the price is a big plus, although the location is also fine for public transport, cycling and walking.

Fabulous condo!

This condo was exactly as advertised. The best part of the condo is the location. It is in a lovely neighborhood, close to Waikiki, but separate so that you are not overwhelmed with tourists. Having a parking spot is a huge bonus as well. The restaurant in the building is high-end and prepares delicious food.

The ocean is right in front of the building; the beach is lovely for children and really everyone! The unit comes with a couple of beach chairs, beach mats, etc. and even beach towels. You can even see the ocean from the living room. The trade winds are a delight and keep the apartment at an even temperature all the time.

Although this is an efficiency unit, it is very spacious. It is ideal for 2 people, but can sleep 4 comfortably on the blow-up mattress and the couch. The storage in the bathroom is fantastic; it's extremely well designed.

The apartment building is extremely well run and is very clean.

It's great having a kitchen and the laundry facility is such a help for long-term visitors.

As soon as we left we started planning our next trip! We can't wait to return. The owner is very responsive. All is all, staying in this condo made for a fantastic month in Paradise!

World Traveler Returns to Hawaii

First of all, the condo was perfect for us! It was exactly as the landlord described it and it's location is perfect. Having traveled extensively in and out of the country, I consider myself a fairly good judge of lodging and this condo has what we wanted,i.e., location; on the beach, perfect proximity to Waikiki and all major shopping, restaurants, night clubbing, and sunsets. In speaking to one of my realtor friends, he suggested that instead of staying in a hotel, I should instead rent a condo and gave me VRBO website's address. I found this condo and it appeared just right for us. I contacted the owner, Phil, who was great and who responded immediately to my questions. I also read the 4 previous visitor's reviews of this condo and they were all superb with the exception of the May review, which frankly caused me to take a second look at this condo. I ultimately dismissed that 'biased' review.

The condo's kitchen is a full size kitchen and felt like being at home. It allowed us the opportunity to cook dinner and make lunches and enjoy time together. We really enjoyed the free high speed internet, it was fast, reliable and was great to have.. The surrounding area was peaceful and quiet and I loved that about the location. The Building is right on the beach so we took advantage of that and went swimming and snorkeling in the early mornings. Additionally, we liked the location because within minutes we could walk anywhere in Waikiki without having to drive, and we could avoid the heavy traffic congestion of Waikiki from the condo's location by driving in and out of Waikiki via Kapahulu Ave. It provided quick access to major traffic arteries that got us on our way to visit other areas of the Island. Another huge plus is that this condo comes with a private parking stall that did not cost extra. When one stays at any of the hotels in Waikiki, you will pay approximately twenty dollars extra a day for parking. Hawaii is blessed with its famous 'trade winds' which keeps the humidity mild and is one of the many reasons that makes Hawaii such a pleasant place to be. I highly recommend this condo. The Landlord was professional, kind and he made the whole experience a positive one from start to finish We plan to return. Aloha!

Perfect location

I stayed here with my husband and 2 children (6 and 8y/o) in July this year. We have both travelled to Hawaii before and knew that we wanted to be out of Waikiki and up close to the Outrigger Canoe club, Colony Surf is right next door. The sandy beach in front is protected from the sun til midday, great for us to play and read before the full strength of the sun hit. Snorkelling out front is lovely, saw a turtle every day. I surfed just out front with all the 'old men' who invited me onto their waves, a very pleasant change to some places we surf in Australia! We were lucky to have guest membership with the outrigger so enjoyed all of their clubs facilities plus stored my board there.

The apartment was actually bigger than we thought. My partner and I had the king size Murphy bed, Our 8 y/o the couch, and the 6 y/o on a blow up mattress. cable TV helped when we wanted some indoor down time. We hired a car and were so pleased to have a parking spot in the complex. The kitchen is fully equipped though could do with a pair of tongs. It is very clean and well furnished. The towels are delightfully thick and fluffy. The laundry is in the basement of the building with good quality coin operated washing machines and dryers. We would happily stay again.

Nice place to stay, great location.

This studio condo is a nice, relaxing place to stay on Oahu. I thought it was clean and nicely updated and the bathroom is spacious with lots of closet space so you don't have to live out of a suitcase. It has a full kitchen so you can make meals at "home" and stay in if you want to just relax after a day at the beach or sightseeing. You can watch beach volleyball down below at the Outrigger Canoe Club if folks are playing. The building is a basic apartment building with a nice lobby. The building does have an elevator but I would suggest anyone needing wheelchair accessibility might want to inquire further as there are 3 or 4 stairs in the lobby to get to the elevators. The building is oceanfront so it takes just a couple of minutes to walk from the studio down to the sandy beach out front to take a swim or lie in the sun. To me the location is quite ideal because it is not smack in the center of busy, noisy Waikiki; it's quieter closer to Diamond Head and just fantastic to be able to walk or jog along Diamond Head road with the views of the ocean below. There are several nice surfing spots and lots of great places for swimming, many restaurants, nightclubs, shops, etc. close by. It's about a 10 or 12 minute walk to Waikiki from the condo so there is no need to drive there and try to find parking. One of the perks of this rental was that it comes with parking for one car. Many rentals either don't come with parking or charge extra. The condo is near the Waikiki Aquarium and the Honolulu Zoo, both of which are in walking distance. I will look to rent this condo again when I get the chance to return to Hawaii in the future. Why rent a small hotel room with no kitchen if you can rent a studio condo? It's a cool home base for your Hawaii adventure.
