The cottage on Marktkirchhof you have all to yourself. From the entrance on the right is from a well-equipped kitchen (with gas hob and electric oven), next to it is a bathroom with walk in shower and, separately from the toilet. The entire ground floor has underfloor heating and is therefore also warm in winter. About a (Caution!) historical (and steep) staircase leads to the first Floor the beautiful and bright living room and the adjoining small study. Sofa, two armchairs and a table with 4 chairs are available, as is a large flat screen TV with DVD player with a selection of movies. In the study there is an old (brighter) Secretary with lamp and chair, the floor above are the two bedrooms from the cottage. You have to pass through the smaller single bedroom to the spacious bedroom with double bed (2 mattresses). Health and normal pillow pillows are available, a wardrobe and a chest of drawers available in the master bedroom. A large mirror and small chairs are also available there. The stairs can be secured for children on the top floor with a wooden door.
The house is in a great central location with shortest paths to all the major attractions of the city as well as the weekly market in the town square, the health food store, bakeries, a Rewe and many restaurants and cafes in the immediate area. However, the location is quiet! From every floor you have a wonderful view of the market Church. Culture lovers will feel very comfortable in this house!
We stayed here five nights and could have stayed forever. It didn’t feel like a holiday cottage; it really felt like home.
The house has recently been renovated (as eco-friendly as possible), and it’s uncluttered, comfortable and calm – a really easy place to be.
The kitchen has everything you need to cook for yourself, which is handy in Quedlinburg where eating out can be expensive and you can find your holiday costs quickly mounting up.
There’s a practical walk-in shower, great beds, and quality bedding and towels on tap.
Windows flood the upper two floors with light, while also keeping sound out, so that although the cottage stands beside a church, you’re not disturbed by the chiming of bells.
The owner is welcoming, friendly, and on hand to help if you need it. We had a wonderful time here and wouldn’t hesitate to go back. Thanks!
Located right in the UNESCO World Heritage town of Quedlinburg along with their well-preserved half-timbered houses, the collegiate church, including Cathedral and numerous churches. Contemporary art can be seen in the Lyonel Feininger gallery, opposite the cottage is the Market Church and behind the town hall and market place with weekly market. On the other hand direction grain market, is the convention center Palais Salfeldt.
