Situated just three blocks from the jardin in the historic centro of San Miguel de Allende, Casa Castilla was built from the existing ruins of San Miguel de Allende’s original orphanage. The three-foot wide stone walls of Casa Castilla date back to the early 1600’s. While keeping the castle-like feel of the house, Norwegian architect, Anja Fauske, transformed Casa Castilla into a modern day masterpiece, while Rhode Island School of Design-trained interior designer, Anne-Marie Midy added her gorgeous signature French style to create an enchanting and unique design to every room. Famed architectural photographer, Tim Street-Porter, photographed Casa Castilla for the beautiful Rizzoli book, Casa San Miguel: Inspired Design & Decorations by Annie Kelly & Jorge Almada.

I have been traveling to San Miguel de Allende for years and rented many houses over the years for both short and relatively long term. Casa Castilla is the best!!!

The Beautiful Casa Castilla

My husband and I, along with 50 of our closest friends and family celebrated our nuptuals and reception at Casa Castilla. The week leading up to the wedding, my immediate family and I were fortunate enough to stay at this amazing, architectural marvel. The home is immaculate with great attention to detail. From the well placed, relevant décor and high-end linens to the friendly housekeeping staff, Casa Castilla is a living art form that allows for a laid-back comfortable stay. In respect to its locale, you are only blocks away from the heart of San Miguel and its famous Jardin. Situated at the top of a hill, the 360 views from the multi-level terraces created a breathtaking backdrop for all of our wedding photos.
