LoveView is very private with its own pool. The 2 seperate bedrooms each have outside stone showers. There is also an outside stone shower off the living area. Both bedrooms are reached by going outside and are not connected to the main living quarters. The bedrooms have a/c. The house is considered 'outside living'. The pool deck makes a great place to watch the tropical sunrises or enjoy your evening drinks. LoveView is also for sale.
Inside, you have all the amenities of home. There is satelliteTV and wireless internet . With tile floors throughout, this is a comfortable home that is truly a gem with everything you need for a fantastic vacation. There is also yoga at Concordia which is a 2 minute drive. also right up the road from Larrys Tourist Trap. local hangout.
Swimming Pool: This pool is so private you can skinny dip comfortably! The views make it a wonderful place to relax - day or evening.
we built Loveview in 2005. I lived in the house for several years before moving next door. I have been off and on St John since 1989 and have lived here permanently since 2005. I can help you with anything you want to know and I am home most of the day-so if you need anything- I am here.
if you like peace and quiet, this is the place to stay. Coral Bay is already known as 'the quiet side of the island' but for even more peace and tranquility is John's Folly/Concordia. Located at the end of a dead end- the views are truly amazing. There is also an awesome Sunday brunch at Concordia with music which is only a few minutes away
In John's Folly,we are at the highest elevation of any other house-one of the few with a private pool. when you arrive, you open the door to the deck and the view is just breathtaking. You can just sit on the deck and gaze all day. On a clear day you can see all the way to Virgin Gorda and the Baths. Also at night the stars are so brilliant- the decks make for great star gazing.
I've gotten so many questions regarding Love View 1 and Love View 2. I have two homes in the same neighborhood. Love View 1 is the old original home. We built Love View 2 in 2004. I used to rent Love View 1 and lived in Love View 2. As of January 1st, I have moved into Love View 1 and rent out the newer home, Love View 2. I hope that clarifies matters!
We loved this place. The house was beautiful along with the view and it was very private. We loved being able to keep our bedroom doors open at niight to let the
breeze in-no need for any air conditioning. The pool was nice to come back to
after a day of either hiking or the beach. Thank yo;u Nancy for allowing us to
stay your house.
I really loved this place.
Bedrooms: It was perfect for two couples as one bedroom (queen) is the separate area shown in the pictures by the pool. I loved it as we could keep our doors open at night and just let the breezes blow in and then wake to the view of the pool & ocean. There were a couple of times we had to shut the doors as either it was just too windy or not enough wind and then a couple of mosquitos, but nothing bad. The other bedroom which is a King (two twins) is basically under the house and also on the pool level. Each bedroom as it's own bathroom with outside shower. The showers are kind of like caves, I would have liked it more open/shorter so I could see the ocean while I was taking a shower, but its completely private and the no mildew since it has stone walls and outside which is ideal. There is a third bathroom (also with shower) on the main level.
Deck/View: the view is AMAZING! you will want to sit here every morning and have your tea or coffee and just soak it in. It was extremely windy when we went, but the great thing is there is a little deck in the front of the house that I didn't think we'd ever use, but it was awesome at night to sit out there and look at the stars.
Pool: I'm basically rating this house not 5 stars because of the pool. It was not really a pool I'd hang out at. It's rather small, not that clean, and in February was cold. The deck is very nice though and the lounge chairs w/cushions seemed brand new which was nice.
Dogs: the neighbor dogs come by and visit which I loved - they were very nice and would just come hang out (although we left the front door open the whole time we were there to get the cross breeze). Just mentioning in case this is an issue for anyone, but you could also just keep the front door shut.
Driveway: It was very steep - you do need a 4WD to get there but you'll want a Jeep anyway. It was rather a hassle to get back out of the driveway, limited turn around ability.
Location: Salt Pond Bay was one of favorite places and very close, we even went there for a night swim on our last night and it was great!
Wifi worked well the whole time -- no problems. We missed it, but Miss Lucy's had a pig roast on full moons so you may want to make reservations for that -- great place on the water and short distance away.
If you want a great day trip w/o the crowds look up Sail Long Distance - leaves from Coral Bay and is a great sailboat -- was very fun.
The description and pictures of this property were totally accurate. Beautiful views and very quiet location. We had our coffee on the deck each morning in the cool breeze. The layout gave privacy to each couple which was great. Our favorite snorkeling spot ended up being Salt Pond which is just 10 minutes from the house - Sas told us about this as well as some other places to visit. We enjoyed visiting "Miss Lucy's", "Skinny Legs" and the "Donkey Diner" which are all not too far from the house. The house is on a partly dirt, rocky and very steep road, you definitely need 4 wheel drive. I would recommend trying to arrive in the daylight - we arrived after dark and had no problem as Sas had given very complete directions. The house had everything we needed including beach chairs, coolers, towels and cooking utensils. We loved the very bright decor of the house. The house seemed to be fairly well maintained. I have to say that if it were my rental, the toilets would get a very thorough scrub down with a pumice and some bleach and the kitchen cabinets needed a good scrub down as they were a bit grimey. It is somewhat outdoor living as all 3 showers are outdoors which we really enjoyed. We had little birds fly into the house as well....so it would be impossible to keep this entire house immaculate. It was nothing that bothered us too much, but when you pay a lot for a rental, you do expect bathrooms and kitchens to be pretty pristine. I would recommend this property to people that like a quiet out of the way place on a very beautiful island and like a little bit of adventure when traveling!
STAY HERE - Lesson learned – I was going to stay at Love View II. My vacation plans/dates changed and I ended up in another home on the island. We “visited” Love View II and WISH we would have stayed at Love View II. The name says it all – a breathtaking view. The outdoor showers looked awesome. This rental is wonderful and I would wholeheartedly recommend it. I WILL stay there someday. Thanks Nancy – you are a sweetheart!
Pros: the pictures are extremely accurate, the view is amazing, the trade winds are refreshing, the pool is nice, there are many amenities provided, located close to beaches/restaurants
Cons: cleanliness, insects, the driveway
By the time we arrived on the ferry, obtained our luggage, and got our Jeep, it was pitch black outside. As first timers to St. John's, it was difficult and stressful to find the property. We would recommend scheduling flights so that it will still be daylight when arriving at St. John's. Having said that, after getting to Love View for the first time, it's easy to travel around the island.
It's a little overwhelming trying to find a small villa and not knowing if you can really trust all the details provided or the people involved but rest a sure you not be disappointed in Love View. It is perfect! The description & pictures are very accurate. It was perfect for our teenage son by having his own "private" sleeping quarters with bath & shower. His first comment was " we are in Paradise!" The villa's location is peaceful, has a wonderful breeze, amazing beauty and the most gorgeous view you will ever see! The owners were fantastic to deal with, you will not have any problems! They send alot of great information and there are great books on St John at the villa. The swimming pool was the perfect size and we loved having it. We went to relax and snorkel and two of the best snorkeling beaches are 1/4 mile from Love View! Since the villa came with a full equipped kitchen we packed most of our own food but also make sure you take bug spray for sand flees. So if you are looking for a Fabulous Villa that you can trust go to Love View. The only problem is that you will not want to go home!
We are on the southeast side of the island where the trade winds blow almost all year round keeping things comfortably cool and mosquito free. Love View is near the top of a hill in a quiet, private area with great views views of the mouth of Coral Bay, and several of the British Virgin Islands. With National Park land within view, hiking from the house is easy. Within walking distance we have a little restaurant/ bar at Concordia open during the day and a restaurant open for most meals. Salt Pond Bay, a great snorkeling destination, is about 1/2 mile down the road (there are hiking trails to get there as well) and Lameshur Bays are 1 mile.
