We built our DREAM HOME in historic St. Marys in 2008, starting with an adorable 'cottage' apartment where we lived above the garage while building our home a short 50 steps away. After moving into our home, we have filled our little upstairs cottage frequently with visitors, including friends, family, and renters. A recent young visitor branded our cottage as 'Pelicans' Perch' after sleeping in what she called the 'pelican room'. Once she saw the pelicans perching on pilings at the waterfront, the name was a 'done deal'!
'Pelicans' Perch' is a VERY SPACIOUS 700+ square feet cottage of 'charm', including a dining/small game/sleeping room off the great room. This room has a built-in booth and a 'pelican' day bed with a trundle bed underneath. The great room has a queen leather sofa sleeper and matching leather recliner, large coffee table, as well as a flat screen HD TV, bookcase, and more. The bedroom is spacious with built-in drawers and closets, and the laundry room is located right across from the bedroom for convenience. The full bath has a walk-in shower with a built-in seat. The kitchen is fully loaded, including a walk-in pantry! Our property is gated and fully fenced.
We have two bikes available for cruising our wonderful little town and waterfront, which is located just a few blocks away. Visitors can catch the ferry to Cumberland Island there, as well as the ferry to Fernandina, Fl. We love our home and our wonderful little community, and would love to share it with you!

We've been to St. Marys twice before but this was easily our best trip. This rental is really fully furnished and equiped - we had everything we needed and many bonuses that made for a luxurious stay. The owners (and their wonder-dog Bailey) quickly became friends and we'll definitely stay at their rental the next time we're there. Some of the unexpected bonuses included practically brand-new appliances in the kitchen, leather recliner and couch, large LCD TV with satellite, great bicycles for exploring town, and even a gas grill with utensils for great dinners. The property is beautiful and manicured backyard is open for guests to enjoy. We highly recommend this rental!
My husband, Chip, and I visited our children and grandchildren in St. Marys for several years, and over the years fell in love with it. The quaint and friendly community quickly became our 'place of choice', and when we retired, we could not move here fast enough. That decision has been one of the best we've ever made!
We built our garage apartment (now our rental) to live in while we constructed our house. We loved living in it so much that we decided to let others enjoy it too!
'Pelicans' Perch' is perfectly located for either a quiet, restful 'escape', or as a convenient place for numerous day trips, including Cumberland Island, Jekyll Island, St. Simons Island, Fernandina Beach and Historic Town, the beaches of Jacksonville, great shopping in Jacksonville, St. Augustine, Savannah, the Okeefenokee Swamp, and much more.

|1/2 of total rental fee and the $200 deposit/damage fee is due at the time of the reservation. The remaining half of the rental fee is due 14 days prior to the stay.
The $200 damage deposit is fully refunded within a week of the stay if all conditions of the contract have been met and no damage has been done.
