Welcome to our vacation home on beautiful Upper Silver Lake in Mears, Michigan! Our privately owned home with 120 ft. of lake frontage is minutes away from the majestic Silver Lake Sand Dunes, Little Sable Point Lighthouse and Lake Michigan! Local attractions include dune-buggy or jeep rentals, go-karts, jet ski and boat rentals and several golf courses. The quint town of Pentwater is just minutes to the north where you can go charter fishing on Lake Michigan, shopping, or dining in one of the many restaurants. Your family will absolutely love this beautiful vacation get-away! Many of our guests have said we have the nicest lot on the lake! The swimming in front of our cottage is fabulous with a SANDY bottom and the view spectacular! We have a brick fire pit for those evening bonfires along with marshmallow forks and campfire irons for your enjoyment. Come enjoy a week of quiet relaxation! For your information, we rent Friday to Friday. No smoking or pets.

This is a great get away in the winter too! Lots of snowmobile trails, lake for ice skating, cozy fireplace. Give us a call and we will answer any questions you have!!

We are approximately 5 miles west of US31 and very easy to find. Upper Silver Lake is a mile away from Lower Silver Lake where the majestic dunes are. We are close to the busyness of dune buggies, Craig's Cruisers, shopping and ice cream joints, but away from the noise. We will give you detailed directions after you register your rental week.

Notes: We have a rowboat with motor and two, one-man kayaks for your use. We also have a 14' Hobie Cat Sailboat for rent. We have a front and back deck with large picnic table and umbrella on one and a round glass table and umbrella on the other. The East deck is great for enjoying a sun-rise breakfast and the west deck is great for dinner and watching the sunset! Our dock is great for fishing or relaxing with a morning cup of coffee.

Perfect Vacation Setting for Family Connection

Our family of four, which includes a 3.5 year old boy and 8 month old girl, had the most wonderful vacation at this cozy, well-kept cottage. The home is so well cared for, inside and out. Breakfasts and dinners were enjoyed on the deck overlooking the lake. The lake is remote so that you're in a more private, secluded setting, but you're close enough to many activities. There were a variety of family movies available for the evening, games and puzzles for family time, a fire pit and all the supplies needed to make evening fires for S'Mores. There was a sand box and sand toys that our son enjoyed. The sand does not go directly into the water, which I found to be great since he didn't track sand in the house then. The evenings offered an incredible view of the stars on nights that were clear skies too!

There is an upstairs loft with two queen-sized beds, as well as a basement with a bathroom, kitchen and another bedroom, so it's a great home for a larger group. Since we're a smaller family we only occupied the first level.

This was one of the best vacations that we've had as it allowed us time to focus on each other, and there wasn't a flurry of activities. Though the Silver Lake area doesn't seem ideal for winter-themed activity, the home offers a space for solitude and connectivity. We would gladly return to this home for another getaway!

The Best Family Vacation

This home is extremely well maintained and tastefully decorated. I could tell it was well loved by its family. My family was diverse with Grandma & Grandpa, my husband & I and our 3 boys aged 6, 10 & 13. It was great to have the family room in the basement to play games in the evening while the loft or main floor bedroom folks went to bed.
We loved the fire pit, the beautiful sandy lake front for quick dips or long bouts of water football, the deck for cooking out & a personal favorite the laundry room! With a family of five it was great to come home with no laundry!
We had so much to choose from to do: golfing, State Parks for hiking, swimming, bike riding, "in town" there were go karts and ice cream shops. And don't forget fishing! We took in the nearby lighthouse a few times and some dips in Lake Michigan.
If you have your own boat, there was quick and easy access nearby. The fishing boat use from the owners was used multiple times by the "fishermen" in our family. They loved it. Fishing from the dock was good too. It was nice to have modern amenities like a dishwasher and internet access. It made life easy:-)
The owners were extremely accomodating with questions we had. We knew we could call upon them at anytime with a question.
Our week of weather could not have been better if we asked! Low 80s everyday, high 50s/low 60s at night.
It was a GREAT family vacation!!!

Best Family Vacation Ever

We could not be more enthusiastic about the wonderful experience we had at this Upper Silver Lake home. There were six of us (my husband, daughter, son-in-law and their three and five year olds.) The house is in a lovely setting on the lake with water shallow enough for the little ones (and a sandbox, too). We enjoyed fishing from the motorboat and dock. There are many attractions in the area, but we liked the dunes best. The house has every amenity you could possibly need. We hope to return someday soon.

We miss it already!!

We just got home after a great week at the cottage on the lake! I can't say enough about this place! Absolutely beautiful property with awesome neighbors!! The place is stocked with just about everything you could think of! The kids (ages 2, 7, 9, and 10) all had a blast. Just wish we had more time to just sit at the cottage and enjoy the view but there was just so much to do in the area!! A week is just not enough!! I will miss this place and can't wait to do it all again next year! Thank you so much, Nancy and Terry!!

Absolutely wonderful!!

What a beautiful vacation property!!--clean, well supplied and SO beautifully decorated. Very comfortable. (My husband and son really appreciated the wireless internet connection, too.) The lake is so large that boat traffic was never a problem even on the weekend. Having use of the boat hoist was great as the lake can get choppy. Silver Lake area has so much to do. Don't miss the dunes and shoppers will love browsing Pentwater (15 minutes away). Thanks, Terry and Nancy--your place is lovely!!
