The property:
You enter the property through a beautiful iron gate. Immediately after passing through the banana and mango trees you will see the caretaker's house on the right and citrus trees, including oranges, tangerines and limon on your left. Ahead another 100 meters is the bridge over the Quebrada (a small river) shaded by the beautiful Pavele trees. Pass over the bridge and travel up the curving road another 170 meters past the Bougainvillea, Ginger, Oleanders, and Palms to the house we call 'Serenity'. The road continues past the house another 700 meters to the back pasture. A walk to the back will be rewarded with a beautiful view of the mountains. The River is at the back of the property, but the hill down to the river is steep.
The house:
This brand new house was designed to take maximum advantage of the extraordinary Atenas weather. Atenas was recognized by National Geographic magazine as having the best weather in the world. Unlike the coast, with its scorching tropical sun, the days in Atenas are pleasant and the evenings cool. The home is surrounded by high ceilinged terraces on three sides. Each terrace offers a different breathtaking view. Only native woods were used to build the vaulted ceilings, doors and cabinets creating a calming, tranquil environment. The home is furnished with award winning, comfortable, designer furniture, quality lighting, professional appliances, jacuzzi tub and other amenities to assure your comfort. A very wonderful feature of this house is that you can open the doors from the north and south of the house and have a cross view and cross breeze through the entire house. Air conditioning is completely unnecessary.
Your visit:
This property has a caretaker who can bring you fresh eggs in the morning and seasonal fruit from the farm.
We have a management company available to meet and greet you and assist you in anything you may need to make your stay the best possible. The house is only twenty five minutes from the San Jose airport. You can rent a car or take a taxi from the airport. Atenas has everything you could need: restaurants, grocery stores, doctors, chiropractors, pharmacists, coffee shops, bakeries, etc. You can take day trips to Poaz Volcano, the Pacific coast, which is famous for surfing and deep sea fishing, one of the many natural parks, zip lines, waterfalls, and other attractions. Atenas is ideally located to explore Costa Rica. We strongly recommend that if you rent a car that you rent a four wheel drive.
