The fireplace is great on a cool Fall or Winter day. Located just 60 miles from St. Louis, Missouri Wildlife abounds in the area. Enjoy Deer or Turkey hunting in the surrounding hills. Canoeing and rafting trips down the easy-moving Meramce River, Huzzah Creek, or Curtios Creek are just a short distance from the cottage. Blue Springs Resort, Ozark Outdoors , Bass River Resort and Huzzah Valley Resort are just a few of the area canoe outfitters. Bring your own horse and park them in our stable.   • DEPOSIT required is HALF total lodging to be received within 7 days after your unit has been reserved or reservation may be canceled. Checks accepted for deposit only. Remainder due upon arrival. Sorry, no credit cards or checks accepted upon arrival. FULL PAYMENT IS DUE FOR ALL DATES RESERVED UPON ARRIVAL !!
    No rain checks given for lodging. Any lost/damaged property will be charged to final bill.
    PET POLICY: All pets must be pre-approved and registered. If your pet is found not to be registered you may be
    asked to leave with no refund.
    All pet owners must sign a pet policy liability form upon check in.
    There is a $10 pr night charge pr pet in cabin. 2 pet max in cabin.
    If there is any damage that is done to the unit, you agree to reimburse us for returning the unit to
    its original condition.
    Owners must prevent noise or any other disturbance by their pet.
    Pets not allowed in bedrms or on furniture.
    Pets not to be left unattended in cabins unless in a kennel.
  • CANCELLATION/CHANGES POLICY: 100% refund if canceled prior to 30 days before scheduled arrival date. 50% refund if canceled prior to 15 days before scheduled arrival. No refund if canceled/changed 15 days or later before scheduled arrival date. NO CHANGES UPON ARRIVAL ACCEPTED... PRIOR APPROVAL IS REQUIRED FOR PETS!! No pets allowed inside unit, unless in a kennel. All pets MUST be on a leash and under your control at ALL TIMES..

Perfect Getaway - a hidden treasure

We spent a week in this lovely cabin, which we arrived to find very clean and ready for our enjoyment. The construction of the cabin is excellent with a lot of attention to detail. The rooms were big and roomy -- excellent seating in the living room area and the bedrooms had a lot of walking space and places to tuck suitcases and traveling bags out of the way. Our host had provided us a nice load of firewood and other niceties were found throughout the cabin -- books, videos, magazines, games, walking sticks, spices for cooking, shampoo, etc. There is a barbecue grill and a wonderful fire pit for roasting marshmallows. We can highly recommend this as an excellent place to get away and partake of the local activities, walk through the mown meadows to observe all the wildflowers, or amble down to the babbling creek nearby. Lots of privacy and a great respite from city-life and the pressures of day to day responsibilities. The owner(s) was friendly, helpful, and put us at ease to make our stay enjoyable to the max! The photos offered on this site are nice, but do not clearly depict how nice this place really is -- a hidden treasure indeed. Highly recommend!

Truely Amazing!!!!!!

I can't begin to tell you how nice this tucked away cabin truely is. I agree the pictures do not do this cabin justice. It is VERY clean, comfortable, the kitchen has everything you need except for your food, there are even spices. We were there a few weeks ago and will be returning in the next few weeks. US Cellular won't get signal either, but that is a good thing... What ever happened to going away and not being bothered by cell phones and computers.
The owners are very kind, made sure we had everything we needed, other than that you would not have known that they were there.
If you are wanting a secluded get away this is the place to be.

Country Retreat

If you are looking for a quiet and private getaway, removed from the noisy and busy city scene, then this is a perfect retreat.
The photos do not do this cabin/cottage justice. I was very pleasantly surprised by the quality of this cabin for the reasonable price it is offered.
The cabin is very clean and thoughtfully decorated in a Southwest theme. You can even tell that it was built with care by the attention to detail in the hardwood flooring. It is not luxury as it is a cabin, but it is very quaint comfortable.
It is nestled far away from any paved road. If you are not used to dirt roads and drove there at night you might get the feeling that you are a cliche' for a horror movie...it's very dark and completely surrounded by trees...very secluded. Since it is nestled away, it is a little hard to find. You must be very careful to look for the appropriate landmarks and small signs. I have a feeling that we would have gotten lost if we did not have a GPS.
As far as amentities go - They even have a satellite TV and leave DVDs and VHS tapes in case you feel like watching a movie...very unexpected! (Most cell phones do not work here. Sprint, Nextel and Verizon do not work in this area).
I personally enjoyed the peace and quiet in the nice spring weather and read a lot in the afternoons, which they also leave you a small selection of books in the cabin if you don't bring your own.
There is a fire pit and a coal grill in addition to the full kitchen. We grilled up some steaks, burgers and hotdogs, had some drinks and sat around the fire at night talking, laughing and having a great time.
We brought our puppy and he had a good time in the outdoors...becareful of ticks.
We would definitely go again and next time bring some friends. This is a great place to "camp" with all the convienience of home...and good for bonfires, drinking and good times. There are 3 full size beds (2 rooms), so, 6 people would sleep comfortably.
The owners are nice people. We paid in cash and they came to greet us, but then left us to enjoy the place and did not bother us at all.

Very relaxing. Quiet and peaceful. Senery was incredible and the cabin very comfortable, It had everything we needed. Great fireplace on cool nights and some of the best just walking we've found. Great view of the stars at night and beautiful fall colors during the day. It's just what we needed and will return. Thanks for sharing your beautiful property with us.
