Just outside of Steelville, Missouri, River Oaks Ranch is a magical getaway where friends and family can relax and reconnect. The private and secluded 220 acre estate is nestled in the Mark Twain National Forest in the rolling Ozark Mountains. Estate grounds extend down to a gravel bar beach on the crystal clear Courtois, one of three floatable streams within ten minutes of the ranch. Walk out the ranch gate and you are on the Ozark Trail, a scenic Missouri treasure with hundreds of miles of hiking/riding/equestrian trails.
The lodge comfortably sleeps up to 16 guests. Graciously appointed and with many comforts, the lodge is still a welcoming place for families, with plenty of room inside and out for children to play and explore. Relax and entertain in the 30x30-foot Great Room with a massive 20-foot fireplace and hearth, piano, satellite HDTV, stereo, DVD player, game table and wet bar. Step onto the furnished 30-foot front porch and have your morning coffee while enjoying a panoramic view of the Courtois River Valley and mountain ridges beyond. Watch the ranch horses graze and wildlife roam. Stroll down to the lake and fish for crappie, bluegill, bass or catfish. Take a float on the crystal clear Courtois and then relax on our gravel bar beach, a great way to cool down on a hot summer day. Gather around a roaring campfire at night and be amazed by the sheer number of stars in the big Missouri sky.
The gourmet kitchen features two separate cooking stations, one with griddle and grill. The kitchen is fully equipped to prepare elaborate cuisine or simple country fare. Entertain in whatever style you desire, with a 10-foot dining room table which seats 12 and another table nearby that seats 6.
The 6 spacious bedrooms sleep up to 16 people. The bedrooms are decorated with a French Country flair and have ample closet and chest space as well as a comfortable chair for reading. The master suite is a retreat in itself; complete with a private bath, 2 bedrooms, sitting areas and library. There are a total of three bathrooms.
The Lodge at River Oaks Ranch has hosted reunions for guests from 27 states and 16 countries.
