For anyone thinking of visiting the Moselle-Eifel region of Germany, I say go for it and while you're at it, make this home your base.
Klausen is a peaceful little village with a large church at its heart, a well-stocked bakery/cafe/grocery store and a couple of restaurants. More interestingly, it's within very easy driving range to many other small villages and several interesting towns. It's not far from Trier, Saarburg, Cochem, Koblenz and even Luxembourg. All these nearby places are quite fascinating and the views on the drive there are often beautiful and sometimes spectacular. A photographer's delight.
The house itself is exactly as pictured: it's clean, modern and well-equipped. It should also be said that the beds are very comfortable. The owners have thought of everything down to small toiletries if needed, an enormous and very useful book of brochures (most of which are in German, but still helpful in any case), games and puzzles for kids of all ages and welcome drinks. Furthermore, the owners are nice and helpful and live just across the street in case you need any help or any information during your stay.
One last thing: the rental rate. It looks too good to be true, doesn't it? But it's true! This vacation house is an astonishingly great deal. Just another good reason to stay here.
