Wonderfully quiet the Turracherhöhe is on the first 763 meters. On the border of the Austrian federal states of Carinthia and Styria. The luxury Almhouse is on first 850 m overlooking the Turrachersee, surrounded by larch and stone pine forests and the Nock Mountains National Park. About the Nock Mountains National Park
Since 1987, the 184 square kilometer area in the Carinthian Nock Mountains National Park, and is thus under national treasure. The aim is to transform the national park in the next few years in a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. Characteristic of the National Park are the rounded, gentle, grassy Nock Mountains that reach heights of up to 2 441 meters (monkshood).

Winter on the Turracherhöhe:
Looking for snow cover for skiing? The ski area on the Turracherhöhe (1 400 to 2 205 m), one of the snowiest in all of Austria. The ski season usually begins in November and lasts until early May. Skiers praise the excellent quality of the slopes and appreciate the wide vistas.
Overall, the resort has 38 kilometers of slopes. A good mix of slopes for beginners and for experts. Varied and manageable at the same time. Ideal for families with children. Learning to ski on the Turracherhöhe, perfect!

The choices are simple and quite demanding tour mountains. The terrain is gentler than in the high alpine regions. The snow is mostly stable, the danger of avalanches is relatively low.
The Turracherhöhe is a very idyllic cross-country center. 20 km trails run through beautiful winter landscapes. Equipment can be rented in the sports shops.
