WELCOME to VILLA TROPICANA in Cape Coral Florida.
The history of Cape Coral began almost 60 years ago. The brothers roses flew over the peninsula, which was then inhabited only by fishermen and poachers. Immediately recognized both the enormous potential and bought the piece of land in 1958 from almost 300 square kilometers, which is known as the Cape Coral today. A year later, the first plots were surveyed and started one of the biggest promotions in the United States. In the first year buyers were flown by plane to the city. The now famous 'Del Prado Boulevard' served at these times as a gravel airstrip.
In Cape Coral over 640 kilometers of waterways were in the years to come excavated and paved over 2700 kilometers of roads and is also called 'Venice of the West' called. As Cape Coral was officially declared in 1970 to the city, lived only about 12 000 inhabitants here.
This changed quickly when the great Cape Coral Bridge was dedicated, and so a fast connection between Fort Myers and the peninsula was created. In the next 25 years, the population had grown to about 167 000 inhabitants today. Every year, more and more people into the city. There are new homes built for families and vacationers who have discovered Cape Coral as a quiet and safe spot.
The Fort Myers airport (RSW) is only about 40 minutes away, and with direct flights (3x weekly) from Germany reached. What makes Cape Coral attractiv for Europeans is the weather and the holiday villas to channels. Recreational activities, there are many. Golfers are 150 golf courses within a radius of only an hour's drive to choose from. Boat rentals are plentiful, and in nearby Fort Myers Beach are many fishing charters. Tennis is also offered, and who wants to talk shop about the latest sailing trends, always finds a nice conversation partner in the Cape Coral Yacht Club, Tarpon Point Marina or Cape Harbour.
Here you have also a good starting point for excursions. The nearby beaches of Sanibel and Captiva Iceland. Or Bush Gardens Tampa, Disney & Universal Orlando, Miami and the Florida Keys. But the local infrastructure, shops, restaurants, outlets and shopping malls is very popular with German visitors and holiday guests. There is hardly anything that is not found in Cape Coral: shopping centers, hardware stores and shopping centers, to the mom-and-pop shops with selected specialties. Many German who settled here, one finds even crunchy bread rolls in the German bakers. The great German-American Social Club will be hosting the widely known beyond the borders of Cape Coral addition Oktoberfest annually.
The local police even has the reputation of being well trained. And not without reason, because the crime rate is comparatively low, in comparison lands nationwide Cape Coral was even times at number one in the positive sense.
