This exquisite vacation rental is 10 minutes by car from the plaza downtown, and located just down the road from the famous Las Campanas golf course and residential area. Only a few minutes from the 599 bypass, the views in all directions are stunning. There is a privacy wall around the property, and west-facing sunset views from the back portal. The photos don't show how spacious the house feels, with high ceilings, exposed wood vigas and latillas, and textiles displayed from the owner's world travels. This is a home that is very well cared for and dedicated to retreats and vacation renters only.

Additional Information : Please note: Why stay in a tiny hotel room when you can have 3,200 square feet of luxury for the same price! Sleeps 8 people. This home gives you an opportunity to enjoy your surroundings at home as much as you'll enjoy the culture and history of Santa Fe and it's old world charm downtown. Since the drive to downtown is only ten minutes on the 599 bypass, you'll be able to experience what it really feels like to live in a Santa Fe community area of a new development called Tierra Preciosa. There are advantages to luxuriating in our beautiful home AWAY from the plaza, but close enough to still get downtown in ten minutes. The quiet area, no parking issues, and outdoor patios with terrific views make it exceptional. DVD tour available for serious inquiries.

Communications : Telephone: Telephone service is local, so bring a calling card for long distance. Verizon cell phones work the best in this area, but others do get reception, too. Broadband Internet: Long-term guests will have an option for broadband or satellite Internet with a Verizon wireless card for their laptops. This is the only internet service available in the area, and costs only around $50 for the card.

Outdoor Features: Mountain views. Deck/Patio: West-facing views of the Jemez mountains have spectacular sunsets, and shade cloth blind for dining on the portal. Nice hammock attaches to the vigas so you can siesta in style.

Ski: Skiing at Santa Fe is only minutes away from this luxury vacation rental.

Golf: The Las Campanas area nearby has the spectacular Jack Nicklas golf course, only five minutes from the house.

Our stay at Casa Del Oso was great. Each room is decorated with historic artifacts which adds to the beauty of the house. It is very comfortable and spacious. The view is fantastic and peaceful. At night we heard coyotes howling. Very exotic. Look no further, this house is by far the best we ever stayed in. Enjoy!
Owner's Response: FYI: Wildlife in the high desert of Santa Fe is abundant, and coyotes may also be heard downtown. We are great appreciators of nature and animals, and do not allow hunting of any kind on our property.

This home is a perfect get away, it is welcoming and charming. The kitchen is spacious and very well equipped. The place is comfortable yet elegant, decorated in a tasteful Santa Fe style. Several skylights provide nice lighting. Wonderful views!! The heated floors were an added bonus! We had a very nice stay, and would definetly go back!

Our stay at Casa del Oso was fabulous! The house
is very spacious, has great views and is
professionally decorated with a Southwestern
theme throughout. It is a real showcase. The
kitchen is well-supplied with utensils-we had
everything we needed. It was wonderful to have a
garage for our cars and ski equipment. We not only
would stay here over & over, we could live in this
beautiful house!

This is a terrific place to stay. The ceilings are very high, with exposed wood vigas, and it feels really spacious. Everything is in perfect order, and we had a family reunion here that was so much fun. The kitchen is to die for, and we loved the jacuzzi after sunset over the mountains. Excellent service, nice people, quiet and well kept.
