Great Large Family Vacation

From the moment we arrived we knew this was going to be a wonderful vacation. Mike & Debbie greeted us and made us feel welcome and comfortable, right away we felt like we've know them forever. When we entered the house all the windows were open and a refreshing lake breeze was blowing through the curtains making it feel like an old fashion farmhouse. The house was more impressive than the photos on their website can relay. The kitchen was amazing it had every pot, pan, baking sheet, measuring cup, dish, bowl, and utensil that you could think of, there was even two refridgerators and a full size washer and dryer. Hot water was plentiful even with 13 of us washing clothes and showering. They also offered a great library of books, magazines, wifi, satelite televison and games if you ever come inside, which fortunately we didn't because our weather was so perfect. We rarely left the place our days consisted of sitting at the beach in the cushioned lounge chairs, hanging out uner the big shade trees in the yard, kayaking, boating, swimming, eating, laughing at each other as we tried the row boat and just staring at the beautiful view of the lake. We were also lucky enough to spend time with their horses and help bottle feed their baby goats and cow, which was a big highlight for us. If you do wander off to explore make sure you return by sunset, the sunsets were amazing and completely different each night. Many nights we watched them from their front screen porch that has seating for at least 8. The water was so clean you could see clear to the bottom. The house itself was very roomy and comfortable we were never overcrowded for the whole 7 days even with 13 people. They have a mix of antiques with modern equipment that looks antique and it makes you feel like you have gone back in time. Our family consisted of our Mom who just turned 83 the day before and her 6 grown children and their families. It was the perfect place for our family to get together even though 90% of them always vacation at the ocean and were not looking forward to spending a week at a lake they were very amazed at the wonderful vacation they had at Lake Champlain and would do it again and again.
There is a sign hanging in the house that says it all..."No matter where we travel or whatever road we take we will always remember our days spent at the lake".
