Ferreries is an ideal starting point for excursions in the area, about to Son Mercer de Baix, Talaiot one of the oldest settlements on the island and to the ruins of Castell de Santa Àgueda. The former military installation is located on one of the highest peak (264 m) of the island and was one of the most important Muslim fortresses of Menorca (also known as Sen Ageinz known) and was in 1287 the last bastion of resistance to the conquest by Alfonso III.
The Cala Galdana offers numerous sports facilities and hiking trails through vast pine forests and the nature reserve of Barranc d'Algendar with their unique vegetaion and a variety of birds (peregrine falcon), frogs, toads, shrews and bats.
The Trebaluger pristine coves, Cala Mitjana, Macarella and Macarelleta with fine white sand and turquoise water are just a few kilometers away.

The Liorna restaurant in a typical house in the old part of the village, served as an art gallery and exhibits works of art by various artists, including Maties Sansaloni, and is known for its excellent Mediterranean cuisine and their careful presentation.
