SPECIAL May 5-12 or lang weekend, due emergency cancellation. Only two peak weeks left for summer 2013. Year-round Oceanfront home with Private HEATED Pool, open March through Thanksgiving. House is luxurious, nicely decorated private oceanfront home with elevator built in 2008, quickly booked, now with repeat customers. Late summer / Fall are great times to try out Pelican Watch at reduced prices. Enjoy the beach or curl up with book from our extensive library. Call owner for 'couples' and/or multi-week discounts. Solar blanket and southern exposure (now w/ heater/surcharge applies) will warm the private pool. Take a short walk over dunes to broad beach. Pelican Watch is named in honor of the brown pelicans who fly by on the updrafts from ocean winds off the dune-ridge along the beach.

House has 4 bedrooms, 3 facing oceanfront, 3.5 baths inside, & enclosed outside shower w/ hot/cold H2O. Glassed back deck off small sitting area on main living area offers privacy/protection from ocean breezes and great views of Lockwood Folly Inlet.

Beautiful broad beach just across the dunes, high tide on Atlantic Ocean is about 100 feet off the 2 front decks. Private pool in fenced enclosure. Small back deck overlooks Lockwood Folly Inlet and large undeveloped parcel. 100 golf courses w/ in 50 miles.

Great broad beach right out front or enjoy the pool tucked in front of house. Parents can watch the kids in pool from pool decks or porches overlooking pool and beach.

Four couples spent a long weekend at Pelican Watch--The house is beautiful,the view is georgeous, the owner was so thorough in all our planning & so considerate of us. Holden Beach is such a quiet beach from what we are used to in the SC area & we loved it. We would definitely consider going here again. Nancy & Johnny & our friends.

Pelican Watch was the perfect cottage for our 4-generation family!

We had a wonderful stay at Holden Beach this September, with the Pelican Watch cottage being just right for our family. The elevator goes from the car to the mainroom/dining/kitchen floor on the top level, where there was also a queen-bed room/bath for Greatgrandmother. The view is great, and she didn't have to deal with stairs at age 91! The open porch was very comfortable in the morning and evening.
The middle floor had a king-bed room with bath which was perfect for me (I'm 6'8") and my wife--plus a suite of front bedroom for our daughter and her husband, central shared bath, and a room for the 2 children (ages 2 1/2 and 10 months) in the back. The covered porch on this floor was perfect to avoid the hot sun in the middle of the day.
The kitchen was well-equipped, the TV's worked fine, and there were toys for the pool and plenty of beach chairs plus a beach umbrella. The cottage was very clean, and there were plenty of clean linens and towels.
We had a great time, with clear weather in the 70's every day--and hope to go back there some day.

The Spell Family

We had the most wonderful 4 nights at Pelican watch with our 14 month old twin boys! It was our first vacation as a family and this house made it wonderful. We could have stayed for another month! The pool is great to have with little ones and the best part of the house is the view! Our favorite part was sitting on the top level balcony and enjoying the panoramic views! When we were cooking in the kitchen or having a meal at the table, we felt like we were on a cruise ship because the views of the water were so beautiful! Looking forward to move visits! Thanks Irv!

We loved "Pelican Watch". It was perfect for our family. The pictures and descriptions accurately described it. We loved the porch and sitting out in the evening overlooking the ocean and watching for the pelicans to fly over. The pool was wonderful and we all enjoyed just relaxing there after our day on the beach. The house is beautiful, very clean and well maintained. The owner was very helpful if we had any questions. We thoroughly enjoyed an evening at the Provisions restaurant and take out from Silver Grill and Patronnies. Our grandkids especially loved our visits to "the Scoop" for ice cream. We would recommend this property to families with children

Almost Perfect

What a fantastic time my family and I experienced. I was debating on whether to go or not due to a difficult personal circumstance, but am so glad I did go. The house was clean and very accommodating to our needs. The photos portrayed the house accurately. Although the description said sleeps 8 we ended up with 10. I would say it comfortably sleeps 8 but it did work out with 10 of us as well. The owner, Irv was easy to work with and very pleasant. The area was at the more secluded part of the beach, which we also enjoyed. It probably was a little more crowded then usual due to the fact the we were there July 4th week, but it was a pleasant family atmosphere.
I highly recommend having a house with a pool. The pool was refreshing after being at the beach. The water temperature was perfect and we didn't use the heater at all. I would definitely recommend this property to couples, families of teens, preteens and even young children. The property and location are perfect and the owner was very responsive to my questions, calls and was very honest.
