Miles of woods to explore yet only 4 miles from brand new 'The Fun Station' which has an arcade, driving range, bowling and mini-golf. 30 minute drive to Camelback/Camelbeach, Claws 'N Paws and Mount Airy Casino Lodge. Perfect for a romantic getaway, yet our four bedrooms allow a comfortable sleeping capacity for 8 adults. Linens are provided, please bring your own bath and pool towels. We have 2 full bathrooms, a living room with a beautiful gas fireplace, dining room, sun room with additional seating for 5 as well as a table that offers additional dining capacity for 4, fully equipped kitchen, washer and dryer. Amenities include our own 133 acre Crystal Lake, a recreation island featuring a heated swimming pool, basketball, handball, tennis,bocce courts and a playground. Nearby are both fine and casual dining as well as Mount Airy Casino Resort, The Fun Station, Camelback/Camelbeach, The Crossings, unique pottery studios, gift stores and more.

    This is strictly a non-smoking home, but we do provide ashtrays on both front and rear decks. The rear deck is equipped with a retractable awning so that our smoking guests never have to smoke in the snow or rain.

    We gladly accept PayPal, Cashiers Checks and Bank Certified Checks as forms of payment.

  • Master bedroom has a balcony that overlooks the woods. Bedding is provided for all bedrooms. We provide a twin sized Aerobed that can be used for a child. Bedding is provided for that as well. Three out of the four bedrooms have televisions. Each bedroom has individual heat control for individual needs. First floor bedroom is convenient for those who cannot make frequent trips up and down the stairs and allows that person(s) access to living room, kitchen, 1 bathroom, dining area, sunroom and both front and back decks.

Notes: You will enjoy your time spent in this uniquely furnished and decorated Euro-style home. It's not an investment property, but a well loved home and that feeling is conveyed throughout. Nestled into the woods, we offer cozy charm and privacy plus lots of wildlife and hiking trails. Ceiling fans are located throughout the home. The refrigerator is stocked with common condiments. We also keep a binder with directions to nearby restaurants, grocery stores, gas stations, etc for your convenience. While we do not allow smoking inside of the home, both decks are equipped with ashtrays. The rear deck includes a retractable Sunsetter awning so you'll never have to smoke in the rain. A high chair and baby swing can be provided upon request as well as a geriatric toilet/commode and shower seat. We also have a twin-sized Aerobed with bedding that easily accommodates a child. Evenings tend to be cool even in the Summer months. Be sure to bring a light jacket/sweater

Clean, Cozy & Homey House in the Woods

My fiance and I make it an annual tradition to rent a home in the Poconos with a group of our friends and we were very happy with our stay at the Sonnenberg's. We had very easy communication with Donna and Hans, who came all the way from Philadelphia to check us in. They gave us a great tour of the house and made sure that we were familiar with all the amenities that they offered. We were very fotunate to have perfect weather, especially with all the rain throughout the summer. The house was very very clean and felt more like a house rather then somebody's rental property. We went fishing at the lake, played mini golf at the fun station and ate many many meals while we were there. We saw so many deer, turkeys and I think even a Vultur of some sort. We definately reccomend staying at the Sonnenberg's house and can't wait to go back so we can do some hiking.
Owner's Response: Once again we were so very fortunate to have such a great group stay in our home. We have truly been blessed with great renters that come back as regulars. We do our best to welcome each guest and make sure that they feel at home and get the most from their stay.

Excellent Hosts, Beautiful House

Owners were great to communicate with prior to our rental, met us at the house and gave us a tour of the place and provided a very handy notebook with directions to all the nearby shops and amenities. The lovely, lived-in feel of the house was very welcoming. The house description on Home Away is accurate, and the pictures provide just a hint of the wonderful surroundings. We enjoying to going to the lake and watching fish off the dock, and seeing many deer and turkey on our walks. We even saw a young bullfrog in the pond behind the house. While we didn't have the nicest of weather on our stay, we found plenty to do. Our toddler really loved the ball pit and rides at the Fun Station, and we enjoyed the night out at the attached Irish Pub and Steakhouse. This was a perfect end of summer break before the two teachers in our group head back to school.

Very Nice Experience

We drove all the way from Ann Arbor, Michigan to stay in this lovely home. Donna and Hans greeted us when we arrived...they were great; very charming. We felt very comfortable during our stay. Our hosts provided us with lots of little extras which meant a lot. We did quite a bit of hiking and exploring in the nearby State Parks which was beautiful and fun. My wife and boys took out Hans's canoe one morning on the lake...they loved it!

Having a GPS was helpful when navigating from home to stores, parks etc. Maps and informational brochures were available in a big binder put together by the hosts.

Wireless internet access was reliable and fast. Cellphone signal strenght was spotty in places. The home has a landline telephone if needed.

We have two dogs that traveled with us. There is an additonal small cleaning fee added to the bill which was very reasonable. Of course we tried to leave the house clean and tidy.

The rental contract is very straightforward.

A perfect birthday weekend getaway

My family was so fortunate to be able to stay in Donna's and Hans' beautiful home for my mom's birthday weekend. We are grateful to them for helping us plan an amazing weekend where there was something for everyone- shopping for my dad and sister, the casinos for mom and grandma, the pool and the wildlife for the 2 year old and just the wonderful fresh country air for my husband and me. We thank Donna so much for recommending Ehrhardt's where we had an awesome sunset dinner on the lake. The house was so warm and cozy, we so appreciate their hospitality. We have already started spreading the word to our friends and we hope to be back for a longer stay next time.

July 4th getaway

A group of friends and I were lucky to find this mountain home nestled in the woods and we enjoyed a wonderful, relaxing 4th of July weekend. The rooms were spacious enough to comfortably accommodate 9 people and 1 bulldog. The owners, Donna and Hans, are wonderful and warm people who made sure that there was nothing lacking. They provided all the information we might need for groceries, activities and anything else in the area. The huge deck provided great space where we were able to BBQ and relax outside everyday. The lake and pool are close by and only a short walk away. To get away from the city, shut down and relax was what we were all looking for, and this home was exactly what we needed. Perfect weekend in every way possible thanks to the amazing hospitality of Donna and Hans. We have all recommended this house to our friends, and we would definitely love to come back. Truly a pleasure and a gem of a getaway home. Thanks again!!!
