Itri is in the green hills above the Gulf of Gaeta, just a few minutes drive from the sea and the beautiful beaches of Gaeta and Sperlonga. The town is surrounded by olive groves and the Aurunci mountains, which rise up to an altitude of 1500 m. The climate is mild and Mediterranean all year round. The village is of medieval origin, well worth a medieval fortress castle - Castle of Itri (opening times from Tuesday to Sunday, 10-13 and 17-20 clock, with evening events to 24 Clock), the medieval church and the sanctuary of Madonna della Civita, which is on the way to Campodimele is.
