Hale Moana is a Non-Smoking studio nestled beneath two lovely shade trees with a 'treehouse' view. Our studio is cooled by refreshing island tradewinds and by the shade from our Monkeypod and Tamarind Trees.

Hale Moana has interior teak and bamboo furnishings which rest on a cool, quartzite slate tile floor. You will have private parking & entry to a 750+ square foot studio and lanai. The interior also has a vaulted ceiling with skylights and plenty of light throughout. Gas two-burner cooking inside and a gas BBQ grill outside.

Once settled in at Hale Moana, you will be a few delightfully sandy paces to beautiful Kailua Bay and Kalama Beach with views of Flat island, the Mokulua islands (Moku Nui and Moku Iki), outer islands (sometimes Molokai and Maui are visible in the distance) and wonderful sunrises too on our East facing, windward side of the island. This rental was really well situated, which made it easy to get around the island for touring. Kailua has a great town center with good restaurants and shops; Lucy's Grill was fun and the smoothies at Lanikai Juice were delicious. Our rental was really close to the water and Kailua Bay is beautiful and had good swimming, boogie boarding and body surfing. Our host was great and had the studio outfitted with everything we needed for a comfortable stay - not to mention very clean and beautifully decorated. Jennifer was available when we needed her for questions and we also felt like we had tons of privacy from the main house. The 'welcome book' in particular was very helpful and detailed. Being in a neighborhood was more relaxing for us than staying in Waikiki (which we've done on previous visits) and Kailua really had everything we wanted. We'd like to come back to Hale Moana and Kailua again and will recommend this rental to friends. Oh, and shave ice with a scoop of ice cream in the bottom is the best! Owner's Response: We are always glad to hear responses from our guests and to know that they had a good stay with us; 99% of the time this is the case! We include a comment sheet with our welcome paperwork which has been instrumental in helping us dial our studio in so that it really is a home away from home for our guests. Visitors have had a really positive response to our information binder of local restaurants, shopping, and activities. Kailua town is growing and changing and has more to offer than in years past ( if you really want more than a great location, beach and swimming ! ) so even going into Waikiki or Honolulu seems like too long of a drive; pretty much all the conveniences are right in Kailua. My husband and I stayed at this wonderful Hawaiian home for five nights in April. We could not have asked for a more lovingly cared for rental with an amazing Aloha flavor. The decorations were island style with wonderful touches such as fresh blossoms, shells and artwork. The owner, Jennifer, takes great pride in her amazing rental. The unit was spotless and well equipped. Linens and towels were of superior quality and bed was super comfortable. The locations of the unit is superb with a quick stroll to Kailua's best part of the beach. A quick drive( 3 minutes) to the local coffee shops, fun restaurants and unique shopping. What a relaxing and comfortable gem of a place. Jennifer, the owner, is very unobtrusive but very much available for questions and advice. Perfect place for a perfect island experience on the BEST beach in Hawaii. Enough said :) We will return!!

From making arrangements for the studio to arriving at the studio, the owner Jennifer went far and beyond making our vacation the best! The studio looks exactly as the pictures but even better in person! Its beautiful inside and out! Jennifer has everything in the studio that you would ever need to make your stay comfortable. The king size bed is absolutely comfortable. AND, the bathroom is awesome! Kalama beach within 3 minutes of walking out of your studio. My husband and I liked this beach actually more than Kailua beach just for the fact its not as crowded. Jennifer did not leave out any amenities for this property. It is tastfully decorated and has all these extra touches to it (such as the great smelling soap) in the shower! The washer and dryer really came in handy that is right outside the bathroom. Dont bring a blowdryer, beach towels, snorkeling gear, Jennifer has it all right here for you! My husband and I recommend going to Island Snow for the shaved ice, and The Chiefs Luau at Sea Life Park. Will we be back??? YES!!! Its the perfect place for privacy, rest, and peace from the busy outside world. Thank you Jennifer for making our stay perfect.........

Hale Moana is a welcoming, comfortable, and relaxing, "home-away-from-home." Jennifer has thought of everything you might need for excursions to the beach, around the island, and while staying in. Many very thoughtful touches in this (incredibly clean) studio, including decor, artwork, Hawaiiana books and local guides. What can else can we say other than this place was perfect! My hubby and I loved our week stay at Hale Moana and can't wait to go back! :) Jeniffer, the owner, is beyond sweet and awesome :) It is truly the perfect retreat for two people! The bed is huge and comfy! The fan and the trade winds are perfect and it never got hot and I want to stress this because my husband has a tendency of being too hot, but he never once felt it was hot inside the apartment. We slept comfortably every night. The bathroom is amazing because you can come in from a separate door in the back and there is no need to tread sand all over the place as you can hop straight into the shower when coming back from the beach. It was perfect! The fridge is spacious and the kitchen super clean. We must confess that we never cooked, but that was only because we are too lazy to cook on vacation but not because the kitchen was lacking in any way. The furnishings are great and there are plenty of towels. The apartment is located in a quiet neighborhood and we were able to sleep in until 10 am some days without any noise. We loved it here and can't wait to go back this year!!!
