Our cottage is situated in the east of Dresden, in the beautiful area Dresden-Laubegast. Laubegast was formerly a village near Dresden and was incorporated in 1920. Since it's the same and is surrounded by an old Elbarm, the district is slightly during flooding to the island. So it was in 2002. Reason, we celebrate every year in August, an island feast in memory of the great flood of 2002, in which only a few properties in the district were not under water. After the 'flood' was Laubegast built beautiful than before and is again due to its location a very popular resort. Our cottage is located 100 meters from the River Elbe in our garden, which must also be based. Equal to the same is also the Elbradweg on which you can ride to the city center, next to Meissen or in the other direction to Pirna or in the Saxon Switzerland. Of course you can also come to the city differently. 150 meters away is the bus stop of line 4, which goes directly to the Old Market. There you can visit the historic part of our city, the Neumarkt, Frauenkirche, Church of the Cross, the Green Vault and other museums, Brühl's Terrace, Dresden-Neustadt and much more. With the S-Bahn to the one comes well with the line 6 or the car you drive low into the Saxon Switzerland, which has its steep sandstone cliffs, deep valleys and the wonderful flora an abundance of nature with good recreational value. In the southern direction away by car or train, the Eastern Ore Mountains, which invites for hiking in summer and in winter for skiing. Also you can find in and around Dresden many castles such as Moritz Castle Wesenstein, Stolpen or very close to our Pillnitz with the wonderful park, with many mature trees and flowering in March a very, very old camellia. Children equally happy about the many animals in the zoo or a visit to the German Hygiene Museum or technical museum. Also, the travel path of the Great Garden Park will inspire you.
