Because it's quintessential Vermont at it's best.
Everything was wonderful. We had a lovely place to stay, time to relax, and a snowstorm to get us in the mood for the holidays. We stayed here with our young son and our dogs. They all didn't want to leave. The dogs loved the fireplaces as much as we did and our son had plenty to do and plenty of room to move around. The owners are great- very attentive. We would definitely stay here again! Thank you Debs!
We feel so blessed to have found this wonderful cottage for our annual visit home at Christmas time. Our children have come to see this as their "Christmas house" and the times we have shared here are nothing short of magical. The homeowner is the best! She always ensures we have everything we need and the accommodations are immaculate. The general store and Kedron Valley Inn, which are in walking distance, are both "one of a kind" and Woodstock is the perfect Vermont village. No place better for a gathering of family and friends!
My wife and I just returned from another fabulous stay in this lovely home with our children and grandchildren. The home is perfect for all of us - roomy, clean and convenient. The homeowner is a joy to work with, and even checked in with me to make sure everything was OK after some inclement weather (everything was fine). The neighborhood is perfect for quiet walks in the countryside, and Woodstock has everything to offer and is less than ten minutes away. This will be Ground Zero for our annual family get together for years to come!
We recently attended a destination wedding in Woodstock and decided to rent a home instead of going to a hotel as we had some other family members with us. The home is lovely, spacious, CLEAN and the beds were soooo comfortable. It is very quiet and nice area to have a morning walk. We were only 10 minutes from Woodstock which had some nifty shopping and dining places. The kitchen is well equipped and just beautiful. The owner Debbie was wonderful and very pleasant to work with. There was a little general store just a minute down the road which we walked to which was very quaint, which carried basic necessities (plus wine!) and even some gift items If you get a chance Simon Pierce Glass Company is a must see. This was our first trip to Vermont but it will not be our last. I would have loved to spend more time hiking, shopping and eating! We did manage to take some pics of the many covered bridges around the area. I would definitely recommend this home if you are staying in this area.
Very comfortable , spacious house - perfect for a larger group . We'll appointed , nicely decorated . The owner is very responsive and accommodating . Lovely area. Highly recommend . Would definitely rent again!
We had an amazing 6 stay at Lilac Cottage. The house was perfect for our 3 generation family ranging in age from 23 to 86. The house was large, the rooms were spacious and it was kept in immaculate condition. We enjoyed cooking meals in the very modern, well stocked kitchen and enjoyed eating indoors and outside. The owner was very available and responsive although there really were no problems. The location is beautiful and the house was everything that we had hoped for. We give the house and the owner our highest recommendation.
