Experience one of the most spectacular views in the Caribbean -- an unobstructed view to the sea and the horizon, so you won't miss the green flash! This is a perfect location for one or two couples, or a small family. Poinsettia House is located within short walking distance of resort amenities. There is no need for a car as you can walk to restaurants, bars, and entertainment. The beach is a two-minute walk from the house, with beach chairs free to guests. If diving is your thing, dive boats and sailboats leave the bay daily. Or you can rent a boat and be your own captain. The capital of Castries is only a twenty-minute ride away. There you can enjoy shopping, historical sites, and the local market daily. Or take an island tour to the world-famous Pitons, a rainforest, a drive-in volcano, or sulfur springs.

Location: St Lucia

Nearest Airport: Vigie/George Charles at 10 Miles
Marigot Bay is located about halfway down the island on the Caribbean sea side. It is a natural deep harbor which is ideal for the yachts that sail and motor the island chain - -providing a safe overnight anchorage. Most of St.Lucia, including Marigot, is hilly with the highest peaks being in the center of the island. Approaching the bay from land, one drives through the small village of Marigot and then down a hill to the seaside. A small ferry takes passengers across to the north side (where our houses are located). It runs 24 hours a day and the crossing takes just a few minutes. There are no roads on the north side.

There's lots to do here! Take a short walk to the beach and sit on one of our lounger chairs with a good book. Snorkel on the outer edges of the bay. Take a water taxi to a nearby beach for more snorkeling. Or hop one of the dive boats and explore the wrecks off the beach. Go for a west coast tour and see the volcano, botanical gardens, Pitons. Go off for a day sail on one of the boats that go out of the harbor. Or arrange a private daysail -- just the two of you and the sunset. Go to the market in Castries and see all the produce that is grown on the island or shop for some local crafts. Experience a zip line tour in the rain forest. Climb the Pitons. Do lots or nothing at all !!

Had a great relaxing holiday! The view was spectacular & we spent our time watching the boats coming in & leaving the harbour..The house was lovely & well maintained. Lots of bugs overnight but consider where you are. We would have liked a microwave, but we coped. Hint - if you go, take lots of canned & frozen food ( we had no problem bringing it in ). Everything there is expensive, especially food. Elaine's info package was really helpful. We will definitely go back again!

Best Honeymoon spot

This place was recommended to us by a couple of friends. They spoke so highly of it that we didn't hesitate to book it. They were right. St. Lucia is an amazing place. We loved it. The only thing that wasn't so great was the weather. We went Mid October, right after our wedding. It rained almost every day. However, it was so romantic that the rain added a nice touch to our afternoon naps.
The Bay is a very quite place and has a beautiful view; the perfect place to relax and rest from all the stress that comes with work and living in a big city.
The food is amazing, and you must ask Luciana to cook for you at least once. She is a very nice person and a great cook. Also, read the guide provided by Elaine. It has great recommendation specially when it comes to the restaurants. The food in St. Lucia is great.

My wife and I returned this weekend from a 1 week stay. The house itself is perfect. The most spectacular view you can imagine. Immaculate housekeeping, roomy, comfortable, totally furnished down to every kitchen gadget you could want.
We wanted a place to go and relax and do little else. We were so entranced with Marigt Bay that we only left twice for about 4 hours each time by boat. Once to go to market in Castries and once to go snorkeling.
A true romantic get away - this was a second honeymoon after 23 years and it lived up to the first one spent in St. Barts

I can't believe it's been a whole year since our trip to St Lucia (Jan '07 - our apologies for taking so long to post!)

The Cottage was all we could have hoped for and more. The view from the porch was incredible (we spent most of our time sitting outside watching the sun on the water and the boats!)

There are a number of restaurants close by (no need for a taxi) that we found to be quite good. And we took a water taxi to get to a nearby beach, which worked out perfectly.

Joe and Elaine are outstanding. They took care of every little detail and made sure we were comfortable and happy our whole trip - they're a great source of information about the island and can help you plan the perfect trip.

My one recommendation for future guests would be to put in a grocery "order" with Luciana. We took a trip to the grocery ourselves and found it to be a bigger production that we had expected.

Overall great experience; we can't wait to get back!!

The second time we have rented Ginger Cottage. It's a lovely place with a stunning view over the bay. The sunsets every night from the patio are wonderful and Marigot Bay has everything you need. Highly recommended.
