Serene Retreat
Review Submitted: August 16, 2011
Date of Stay: August 2011
We were a pretty diverse bunch...young adults, young children, grandparents, and the family dogs. From the moment we pulled into the drive until the reluctant departure, we enjoyed every bit of our stay! The cabin is comfortable and thoughtfully designed for guests.
Our primary interest while there was supposed to be visiting
Natural Bridge but the time relaxing at the cabin quickly eclipsed this! We did have a nice day at the Bridge and returned that evening to the Colonial Dining Room for dinner (very good meal) and of course the lights/story of creation.
Our short stay was intended to be a mini-getaway and respite...and thanks to this gem it was even better than that. Many thanks to the owners for such a neat, comfy place in the mountains!

Owner's Response: There are many good restaurants in Lexington as well. The Colonial Dining Room in the Natural Bridge Hotel is a very beautiful facility. Their Seafood Buffet on Friday evening is very popular and may require advance reservations. They have an intimate bar called the Foxes Den which is adjacent to the dining room.
There are several fine dining restaurants in Lexington. The Southern Inn, The Red Hen, Cafe Michele, and the Bistro all are highly regarded. Also there is a tapas restaurant called the Brix.
I eat at Nikkos Grille on Main for breakfast and lunch.
The Pink Cadillac at the interstate near the cabin is an old fashioned diner and serves large portions. It is very popular and is a good breakfast spot.
