There is an oversized clay brick patio and raised deck. The tropical garden is fully fenced and surrounded by palm trees and hedging.
A propane grill station and well maintained garden with accent lighting, create an outdoor space that is perfect for dining alfresco or gazing up at the stars, while you sip your glass of wine!

A designated parking space with custom carport is located directly at the garden gate for maximum convenience with unloading of baggage and groceries.
Enter through either of two sets of French doors and discover the wide, open living and dining rooms areas!
Lofty twelve foot ceilings, classic central staircase and antique exposed brick walls contribute to a sense of grandeur and comfort - You will feel the vibe of Old Town Key West at every moment!
The living room has a flat screen TV and a DVD player. There is surround sound for listening to relaxing music provided by the two high quality speakers attached to the ceiling - great acoustics!
The modern kitchen is fresh, bright and fully equipped with everything you will need to practice your culinary talents!
It has a bar area that sits 3 people for cocktails to keep the chef entertained. Margarita glasses are housed in the cupboard over the stove.
Maybe you wont even cook at all!
There are so many wonderful choices to grab a lunch or linger over dinner in Old Town.
The main floor also has a separate laundry room with full size washer and dryer and stores beach towels for guests to use at the pool or beach.
An ironing board and iron are stored in the upstairs bedroom closet, in case you want to take in a play at the local Red Barn Theater. Blow dryers and curling irons are in the both upstairs bathrooms.
There is a convenient main floor 2 piece powder room located beside the laundry room.
This is one of only two Foundry homes that has a center hall plan, oversized garden/patio and is a 2 storey dwelling - other Foundry units have 3 storeys.
It is the only end unit with this unique wide and open floor plan and large outdoor space. Truly one-of-a-kind!
Both bedrooms upstairs have private bathrooms, televisions, extra pillows, towels and sheets.

My husband and I made our first trip to Key West in 1997.
Astounded at all of the sites and sounds, we fell hopelessly in love with Old Town! - The Victorian architecture, the charming and colorful Conch cottages tucked away on the small narrow laneways, the stunning sunsets and the casual rhythm of island life - there is always the unexpected!
Most days, we ride our bicycles to do the shopping or to go to the beach and leave the car parked under the carport - Both of us enjoy a carefree, yet active and stimulating life here in wonderful Key West - hardly attainable anywhere else in the world.
There is so much fascinating history and stunning natural beauty!
The authentic island flavor of Bahama Village and the lush grandeur of the Truman Annex Community have resonated with us all these years and continue to provide us with a refuge from a frantically fast paced world elsewhere.

Our Foundry Building is an historic structure circa 1860, located within the gated community of the Truman Annex, formerly a U.S. Naval Base.
The wide open main floor of our home struck us with its spacious, airy atmosphere - the 12 foot high ceilings stunted all of the other properties we had seen before.
The exposed brick walls, full of character, remind us constantly of the rich and colorful heritage of Key West!
There are only 3 residents in our building and we enjoy this exclusivity.
We love to grill and eat dinner under the stars and value the large and extremely rare outdoor space, palm lined garden, deck and antiqued brick patio. The garden offers quiet privacy, tremendous everyday and nightly enjoyment and great relaxation.
What we fell in love with was the wide open center hall plan and the unique lay-out of our home!
The two upstairs bedrooms are extremely separate with their own adjoining bathrooms for total privacy, if 2 couples are staying for vacation.
Our home has 2 storeys and this was very important to us. We had previously owned a 3 storey home for a couple of years. We found this arrangement awkward, as our friends would have to trudge past our 2nd floor bedroom up yet another flight of stairs to their bedroom.
The only drawback to our current 2 storey home and ideal layout for privacy is... everyone we know wants to come for a visit at our Island Queen Foundry home!
You can go out to the frivolity of the infamous Duval Street and always retreat to our Foundry home and tropical garden for quiet time together or fun with friends.
Your car is parked at the garden gate - convenient for luggage and groceries.
The home has an inspiring and comfortable atmosphere you wont easily forget, after your stay is over.
Not only is it the best location - Island Queen is a one-of-a-kind property!

My friends and I chose this Foundry unit for our week vacation getaway, and could not have been more pleased with the property. It is located within a gated community right off Mallory Square and Duval St (and within walking distance to all of the restaurants, bars, shopping in downtown Key West). We rented bikes for sightseeing and to travel to the nearby beaches. The townhouse itself was very clean, spacious, beautifully decorated and contained all of the comforts of a home away from home. The two french doors in the front of the house opened up onto the private patio, where we spent much time sitting around drinking marguaritas. The patio is surrounded by landscaped foliage which provided privacy against the neighbors and walkways. There is a shared, heated pool, which was somewhat small but never seemed to get crowded (probably because the beach is so close by). From the time I made the reservations months in advance through our vacation stay, Rosemary (the owner) was always eager to answer questions and provide suggestions favorite restaurants, bars etc. In addition, the property manager provided us with pick-up and drop-off service to the airport, which saved us cab fare. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone!! You won't be disappointed!!
This year was our 25th wedding anniversary and we wanted to do something really special! A friend suggested using VRBO and we knew our destination was going to be Key West. We chose the home for its location and its appeal. Truman Annex is a wonderful gated community with beautiful homes and gorgeous natural gardens. The home is beautiful with the brick exterior/interior, tile floors down and carpet upstairs. The patio, which is surrounded by palms and other natural plants provide a private place to sit and enjoy dinner and drinks or coffee in the morning! Furnishings are very comfortable and it really was home for us and our two daughters for a most magical week! The staircase to the bedrooms split at the top to give guests a bedroom and bath on either side of the upper level. A half bath on the lower level as well was very convenient. There really was no need for a car as you can walk to Mallory Square for Sunset, Fort Zachary for the beach; and Duvall Street with its restaurants and shopping is only a couple of blocks away. We hope to return to Key West soon and would not hesitate to stay in the same home. The owner was fabulous to work with as well as the property manager. This is truly the place to be in Key West!
Description of property is accurate, very clean and well maintained. The separation of the bedrooms provided nice privacy. Property is secure and very convenient to the square and Duval street attractions. Pool is small and a short walk but clean and pretty private. Owner was great to deal with. We would very much recommend this property.
This was our first vacation rental through VRBO. We were extremely pleased. This condo was just as described with no surprises. Rosemary, the owner, was excellent to deal with. Very professional and all our questions were answered promptly. The condo was perfect with a great layout. Everything we needed was available and it was ultra clean and meticulously well cared for. The location could not have been any better. Very private and quiet with easy access to EVERYTHING that is Key West. Patty, the local property manager was a pleasure to deal with also. Excellent communication and always available if needed. When the week was over, our security deposit was promptly refunded within 48 hours of leaving. I would highly recommend renting from these owners. They are very ethical and a pleasure doing business with them. We will surely rent from them again when the opportunity arises. If you are looking for a well appointed, comfortable place to stay in a lush tropical peaceful location not far from the action of Duval Street, this Foundry town home in Truman Annex is a perfect home away from home in Key West. The property is very well maintained and spotless. The owner as well as our on-location contact made the rental process, check in, and check
out a seamless and pleasant process. Truman Annex is a stunning residential area just steps away from Duval Street, the harbor, Mallory Square, and lots of other activities. There is covered parking at the town home, so once you have arrived, it is easy to park and navigate town by foot. Key West is brimming with an array of restaurants for all tastes. One of our favorites was Blue Heaven. We also enjoyed a day out sailing, snorkeling, and kayaking in the mangroves with Danger Cruises as well as several wonderful Key West sunsets. I would highly recommend this town home to friends and relatives traveling to Key West.
I fell in love with this property from the photos on VRBO and was familiar with the location so chose it right away. As great as the pictures are, they don't do justice to this amazing property. The charm of the old foundry building and the history associated with it make it a special place but this particular townhome has to be the very best in the complex. It's private, beautifully furnished and well equipped. Because of the split bedroom layout, it's a perfect unit for two couples who want some together time but some alone time as well. The courtyard is a great place to enjoy morning coffee and the sounds of the island. It's a short walk to everything you'll want to do in Key West. The only time the car moved all week was for a drive up the Keys one day.
The owner is very particular about this property and for good reason! I will definitely stay there again and would highly recommend it to others who are looking for something special and are willing to care for it as they would their own home.
