The house is perfectly situated on the lake shore, and must be fantastic in the summer when guests can live outside, but as we were there in the Fall, it lacked certain amenities. There were no boating facitlities available other than a 2-man kayak - not ideal for a party of 6. There was plenty of outdoor seating on the deck but the dining table inside with only 3 chairs was inadequate as we had to eat inside in the chilly evenings. Likewise for the 2x3 seater sofas in the living area - a bit too cozy for 6 adults.
The system of cleaning one's sheets on departure and having the beds made up on arrival is a bit dicey - we weren't totally convinced all the beds had clean sheets on them. Upstairs rumpus/bunk area could have been cleaner - needs a carpet upgrade. And somewhere it should have been mentioned that it was MILES from everywhere.
Owner's Response: This property is ideal for people who love to swim, fish, boat, hike and spend time in the outdoors. You can rent pontoon and ski boats from a neighbor or the Hickory Creek Marina which is only three miles away. The 3rd floor game room is designed for kids but will get new carpeting winter of '09. We do pride ourselves on cleanliness and make certain that bedding gets washed after each use.
