It's located close to Montmartre, not far from the Moulin Rouge and Folies Bergeres most famous cabarets, the Opera Garnier, the Grevin Museum populated by all international stars, very close to Abbesses Village where Amelie Poulain movie takes place. Shopping will meet French fashion at Galeries Lafayette and Printemps big stores, 10 minutes by walk !
Close to your apartment, you will find 3 central metro stations : Cadet station (Line 7), Notre-Dame de Lorette (line 12), Anvers/Sacre Cœur (line 12).
Moreover, the bus Nr 85, which station is 200 meters from the apartment, will bring you to the famous “Quartier Latin” places (Luxembourg garden).
Down in La Tour d’Auvergne street, you will find the very new Parisian Bicycle Network System : Velib’. For 1 euro per day, you can rent one and go everywhere as you will benefit from such bicycle station every 300 meters in Paris. That’s the new trend in Paris !
The apartment, supermarkets and goodies:
Your apartment is located on the 5th floor. There’s a lift. It is a sweet, cute and comfortable apartment, south oriented where you can take nice breakfast on the balcony.
Kitchen has a typical “Provence” style, bathroom is made of some oriental materials and rooms are coloured with a Latin inspiration.
The Tour d’Auvergne Street has a peace of history of the 19th century. The writer, Victor Hugo (Les Misérables) and the compositor Georges Bizet (Carmen) have lived there at respectively numbers 41 and 28.The place is quiet and friendly, like a small village. You will find around the corner 4 French Bakers (Boulangeries), “un fromager” (french cheese), Wine boutiques, Supermarkets, lovely typical boutiques.
You will be welcomed with a good bottle of red wine offered by the owner.
The coffee machine is an espresso machine. A choice of different will offered to the hosts.
The street environment, activities:
Not far from your building, some green and sports areas will welcome you and your children.
Some very nice restaurants could offer you the best French typical food, and many other international cooking cultures such as Italian, Oriental, Indian, Russian, etc. You will also find many places to have brunch. A British one is one is very well known, in Martyrs street and many British/Irish/Scottish pubs exist.
For the theatre lovers, you will find many exiting exhibitions. Sometimes, you will have quite nothing to pay.
For those who prefer to have a drink, to lesson music groups or to go dancing, you could go in Martyrs street or in the “Abbesse village”, 10 minutes walking. You will meet all Parisian people.
