Ski and Golf Resorts:
Boyne Highland has both skiing and golfing depending on the season. Nubs Nobs Ski resort is across the road. Boyne Highlands ski resort can be viewed from the deck. You can hear the hum of the snow machines and the lights on the hills are aglow. Truly a winter wonderland land. I can not list enough good things to say about the golf in this area. It starts with Little Traverse Bay, Hidden River, True North, Harbor Point,Chestnut Valley, Crooked Tree, Bay Harbor Courses (best of the best) and many others are within a half hour or less.
Snow Mobiling :
Snow mobile trails are accessible from property with gas station / convenience store within a block. Over 250 miles of trails can take you to Mackinaw City to Indian River to Alanson and even Traverse City for the adventuresome snow mobiler.
Boating, Canoeing and Fishing:
Water is very abundant. The Inland water ways are a short drive away with several boat launches to accommodate you. With the Lake Michigan Bay at Petoskey or Harbor Springs are only 4 miles away. The beaches are beautiful and Harbor Springs even has a dog friendly beach on Zoll St. This is surely a water wonderland for boating , jet skiing, water skiing, tubing and fishing. If canoing is your style, the Sturgeon, Maple, Indian or Crooked rivers all await you. Liveries are available for renting. Crooked, Round, Pickeral, Burt, Larks, Paradise (Carp), Mullet or Black Lakes are all close for your pleasure. A favorite trip is to rent a Pontoon on Crooked and go up the inland waterway up Crooked Lake, River, Burt Lake to Indian River and if adventuresome make it to Mullet Lake. This is an all day affair and is very scenic and enjoyable for the family. Boat rental is available on Crooked Lake. I also recommend Sturgeon Bay as a beautiful beach get away located north on M119.
