Very Enjoyable Week

The cottage is located in a wooded rural area, in a neighborhood with several quiet streets. Downtown Harbor Springs is a five-mile drive, just a few minutes away.
There were four of us: Mom, Dad, adult daughter, and adult son. (Plus our four-year-old cockapoo.) The bedroom situation was ideal; daughter and son each had a private room. Kitchen was well-equipped, and the "Welcome" bottle of wine provided by the cottage owners was a nice touch. We used the kitchen to fix dinner three of the six nights we stayed. The IGA market in Harbor Springs had a good selection of groceries, and
the gas grill made meal prep a breeze.
The other nights we ate out: Stafford's Pier in Harbor Springs, the Chippewa Hotel on Mackinac Island, and the Legs Restaurant in Cross Village. All were stellar; there is certainly no dearth of excellent dining establishments in northern lower Michigan.
As stated, we took a day trip to Mackinac Island. The cottage is approximately a half hour's drive from the piers in Mackinaw City and the boat ride is slightly under 20 minutes, making this a convenient trip. We also made a trip to St. Ignace at our son's request, so as to cross the Mackinac Bridge; despite having grown up in Michigan, neither of the kids had ever been to the U.P.
We went to the Thursday night handbell concert in nearby Bay View. Mom had participated in this annual event as a bell ringer the previous nine years, but was pleased to be in the audience this time, just to watch and listen.
High marks are certainly in order overall. The property is clean and well-maintained. Mom booked the reservation and had pleasant interactions with the owners. (Dad is writing the review.) Fortunately for us, the dog behaved well, and our deposit was quickly refunded in full.
I would recommend this property without qualification.
