Schönwalde shares with Berlin, a city sign. Until 1990 it was the wall. She shared all the political blocks, was border and is now state, county and city limits.
The settlement Schönwalde was founded in 1932 as a seaside resort. Starting from the lido, settled more and more people. Their goal: "In Green Living and the city around the corner"
The oldest building is the beautiful forest Schwanenkrug from 1784. Originally created as a horse station, it now serves as a restaurant and a beer garden in the summer months.
The adjacent Schönwalde Oder-Havel Canal is an ideal area for joggers and walkers. To the east it is developed as a cycle route to the Berlin Havel.

For film lovers, a visit to the Babelsberg Film Park is worth the oldest film industry in Germany. The old town offers a variety of restaurants, cafes and bars.
