Great Exuma Vacation Rental house

My family of 4 stayed here in April for almost 2 weeks. It could be a great place if the property was taken care of better. The grill was dangerous- very rusty with a broken handle and sparks flew everywhere when we took off the top. The windows don't lock in the living room upstairs and the screens come out very easily which isn't very safe. Sliding windows upstairs in living room didn't all work-couldn't open or there was no screen. Window seats upstairs were old and dirty-new cushions would make it appealing to sit there.The kids slept downstairs in a separate apartment which they loved, but the door didn't lock-the wood around the bolt lock was rotten. This make me nervous for the first few days because the house is right on the road! One of their lamps didn't work. There was a TV with DVD there which was great. Also upstairs.There was an outside shower and washer and dryer which was nice. There was a little dingy with only one oar(!)The weather was too rough to go out much with it or snorkle but the time we did was great. Great beach but several times too rough to swim or walk the beach which was very important to us. We went to Little Exuma to the beach there which was always calm. There was no outside patio furniture(chairs,table) to have dinner,etc. outside which would have been nice. There were nice lounge chairs . The light over the dining room table didn't work which made it pretty dark.The fan in the bedroom couldn't shut off! The house is also right on the road which can get noisy at times,especially at regatta time! The sound of the ocean was wonderful and mostly drowned out the road noise, but it is a consideration for those who want more privacy and quiet. The best feature was the location(view of the ocean is superb) and the wonderful caretaker and son who live downstairs. I did tell her about the repairs needed, but nothing was done in the two weeks we were there. It just needs some work. We wouldn't return until these repairs were done and wouldn't recommend the house to anyone either. We don't need a house which is fancy, but things should work and not be broken or unsafe and not repaired the whole time you are there.
We loved Stocking Island and the beaches on Little Exuma. Cocoplum was closed . We ate at Santana's and AJ's(I think) up by Four Seasons. Both were good. The food at Stocking Island run by a couple who operate the boat from Peace and Plenty is great.
