Three Dog Hollow is our family cabin located in the Madison Valley with private access to 55 acres of fishing on the Madison River below Three Dollar Bridge. The basement has been recently finished in 2008 with 2 built in beds, a flat screen TV, and a soapstone wood stove with plenty of wood to burn. The upstairs has a full kitchen with all amenities, brand new appliances, a deck with a gorgeous view of the Madison Range, and a loft with a queen bed. We are located 40 miles from the Cowboy town of Ennis and 30 miles from West Yellowstone and the entrance to Yellowstone Park. We are also only 1.5 miles from Cliff and Wade lakes. We have abundant wildlife on the property. This is a remote location on 20 acres nestled in the trees accessed through a gated entrance with well maintained roads. This is a cozy quiet, private location perfect for fisherman and families. Dogs are allowed for an additional security deposit. Hunting is not allowed on the property but public land is nearby

We are located in the Madison River Ranches, an association of 20+ acre lots with a maintained dirt road and a gated entrance. The ranch is located in the Missouri Flats area of the Madison Valley with surrounding views of the Madison and Gravelly Mountain ranges. The association maintains a 55 acre area along the Madison River just below Three Dollar Bridge where only association members and their renters are allowed to fish. This section has 'the most wild trout and whitefish per mile of the entire river' (Craig Mathews). This is a wade only, fly fishing only area requiring catch and release. We are also 1.5 miles from beautiful alpine lakes open to fishing and no-wake boating. There is BLM land open to hunting adjacent to the ranch where large elk herds are often seen. A beautiful drive to the south puts you in West Yellowstone, and drive to the north puts you in Ennis for all of your grocery and shopping needs. Bozeman is 90 miles away, and Jackson Hole is 3.5 hours away.

Additional information about rental rates

  • We accept Paypal and personal checks.
  • A 50% deposit is due upon reservation of the property, with the remaining balance due 60 days prior to your arrival. A 30% security deposit is required when balance of payment is made, and will be refunded within 14 days of departure. For dogs, we require an additional $100 security deposit that will be refunded 14 days after departure.
  • A note on dogs: we have 4 of them ourselves and we know each of their bad habits well, and we expect the same from you. If your dogs are chewers, please kennel them when you are gone or do not leave them unattended. We have a full size kennel that we leave at the cabin that you are welcome to use. It will fit up to a 150lb dog, or two to three smaller dogs. Also, there is A LOT of wildlife on the property, so if your dogs tend to chase animals, please leave them home. We cannot be responsible for lost or injured dogs. However, there is ample room for them to run, and if they are swimmers they will love the alpine lakes behind the ranch. So we do encourage you to bring and enjoy your dogs, and leave a photo or two for us! We aren't called Three Dog Hollow for nothing!

Notes: We have three kayaks, one tandem and two singles that you are welcome to use. They have paddles. You must supply life preservers. We have an elliptical machine available for use in the lower level. Internet access will be available to plug into via ethernet cord. We have never had any problems with the internet, but we do not guarantee it. We will not do tech support. We also will have our combination printer/scanner available for your use, but again it is not guaranteed. There is no central heat/furnace. All heating is done with the wood stove on the lower level, and a wall unit heater upstairs. We have stayed here into the fall and have been plenty warm. We have not tested it in January at 30 below. But for late fall and early spring and cold summer nights, it heats adequately.
