Port Orchard House Rental Photos and Description

3 Bdrm Furn House Near Seattle/Port Orchard Waterfront Child/Pet Friendly

The house is about an hour from Seattle by ferry or freeway. It's located within two blocks of the Kitsap County Administrative Offices and Court House; and is a fifteen-minute drive or ferry ride from Bremerton. It makes a great home base while you take care of legal matters, explore Puget Sound, visit family and friends, go house hunting, and/or transition to a new job. Immerse yourself in the beauty of nature on Puget Sound, yet be close to the amenities of larger cities.

Centrally located for both work and play, this three-bedroom Port Orchard house is perfect for temporary housing needs. The views from every room are enhanced by the beauty of nature, creating a sense of serenity: The Olympic Mountains, the water, the surrounding, a lush green belt in the private canyon behind the house. For your added comfort, the house has a huge patio with outdoor seating, and an expansive lawn. A deck off the kitchen enhances quiet observation of wild life while you enjoy a cup of coffee.

The family style kitchen is fully equipped with pots and pans, dishes, flatware, toaster, coffee pot, microwave, stove, dishwasher, and a kitchen table for four with a view! The dining room table will easily accommodate six. China, stemware, and candles are available for special occasions.

The living room is in the center of the house; it has a comfy leather sofa, recliner, and side chairs, plus a fireplace and HDTV.

The house has three bedrooms. The master bedroom has a queen size bed. There is a double size bed and a walk-in closet in the second bedroom. The third has a twin size bed plus a desk so the room can also be used as an office. Wi-Fi is provided. The beds are freshly made and towels are included for your convenience.

Grocery stores, salons, gyms, restaurants, movie and live theaters and even a 24 hour Urgent Care are located with two miles of the house so you don’t have to go far for anything you might need. McCormick Woods Golf Course, Trophy Lake Golf and Casting Club, and the Gold Mountain Golf Course are all within a six mile radius.

Enjoy a meal, entertainment, or wedding reception at the McCormick Woods Clubhouse Restaurant and Bar, or drive down the Port Orchard waterfront for dinner at the Light House or Amy’s on the Bay. Live theater at the Western Center for Fine Arts, located near the Marina is fun, as well as the local Farmer’s Market and Antique stores.

Be sure to take a scenic ferry ride to Seattle for a day of shopping, Pike’s Market, and/or ride the monorail, to check out the views of Puget Sound from the Space Needle. Additional day trip destinations include the Olympic Rain Forest, Ocean Shores and/or Mt. Rainier or Mt St. Helen’s. The WA State Ferry System can take you on scenic journey to The San Jaun Islands, and/or British Columbia.

About Lorraine Heng

After teaching for thirty four years and maintaining cars, airplanes and properties for even longer, we have retired to a life of creating 'home'(s)along the west coast and sharing with others. Our Port Orchard home is a keeper! When we are not working on a home, in a yard, or on the computer, we are enjoying grandchildren, traveling, reading, walking with friends or 'workng out' at the YMCA.

Lorraine Heng purchased this house in 1986

Why Lorraine Heng chose Port Orchard

We love the ambience, especially the fresh air, forests, clear skies and the natural beauty of the Puget Sound area. It is a great place to take a deep breath, relax, enjoy nature, and explore the wealth of outdoor activities. Being removed from the huslte and bustle of major cities, yet still having easy access to Seattle and other favorites like Gig Harbor, Silverspring, Tacoma, and British Columbia has been an important consideration for us.

What makes this house unique

One chief advantage of staying here is the price: It is very inexpensive for what you get. Also, access to downtown Seattle via the ferry is simple, yet pleasurable with fantasstic scenery along the way. Best of all the house is clean, comfortable, well equipped and very peaceful.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Excellent short term housing for families

  • 5 of 5

We are a military family who needed housing for about 2 months while we waited to move into our home. This place fit our needs perfectly. It is well stocked and very spacious. The owners are helpful and quick to respond. It is located on a quiet street with very little traffic, yet close to downtown and 2 miles from Walmart and other shopping. Our kids enjoyed watching the deer and other wildlife from the back deck. We would recommend this to families or anyone else needing temporary housing.

Owner's Response: If you want a scenic, fun filled day of adventure: Walk down the hill to the foot ferry and cross the inlet to Bremerton. Transfer to the WA State Ferry to Seattle. In Seattle, you can easily walk to Pike's Market, shopping outlets, or catch Rail to the Space Needle. (All without having to deal with traffic and parking) Then come back to the comforts of home.

Tranquil vacation

  • 5 of 5

I stayed here with my 6 month old son for a little mommy/son bonding time while daddy stayed home with the pets. I had such a great time I booked a 4th day as we weren't ready to leave. The house was more than big enough for larger groups. The living room has a huge LCD tv and I know most folks appreciate that. It had everything I needed for cooking even though it was only for myself. There's a lot of light inside with all the windows and that's important to me. We didn't need the 3 bedrooms but they were all charming.it poured the entire time so we did a lot of driving and shopping. Port Orchard is a very cute little town. Silverdale is 15 minutes away and it has absolutely everything and every store you could think of! We went two days in a row because they have everything. Another great thing is this rental is on a private dead end room so you don't have to worry about noise except from nearby neighbors. The backyard has a beautiful view of a ravine. We had an amazing time and highly recommend this property. We stay in vrbo rentals every month or 2 and we're never disappointed.

Comfortable family getaway

  • 5 of 5

Our family of four arrived for a ten day stay at this lovely vacation rental within easy walking distance of the Port Orchard downtown area.

The home was well stocked, very clean and comfortable making it cozy and easy to settle in to right away. The neighborhood was quiet, and my children even made a couple of friends to play with over the course of our stay.

The owners are very hospitable and greatly assisted us in connecting with the resources we needed to conduct our local business and fully enjoy our family vacation time. Hotels are nice for a couple of days, but it is so much more pleasant to be able to stretch out across several rooms when on a holiday with the family. I would absolutely stay here again and very well may on our next visit to the area.

The house was clean and charming but the amenities were lacking. There was a half roll of paper towels, and a quarter roll of toilet paper, there was no back up supply. I had to purchase these items myself. The owner did offer to reimburse me. The Internet did not work. I sent the owner an email, she replied the next day with a number for tech support. However when we tried to contact tech support we did not have enough info about the account to even get started. I sent another email to the owner but never received a reply. The kitchen was fairly well appointed, The dining room was very nice, a large table and spacious.

Port Orchard Thanksgiving get-a-away

  • 4 of 5

The only thing missing was a coat rack!! This place had all of the necessary items for a great home-stay. Well-located right above the touristy downtown, it afforded us easy access to all of the Black Friday sales. Dog-walking was easy through the peaceful neighborhood where this house is located. Plenty of room for our family get-to-gather with 3 well-furnished bedrooms. Plenty of everything and very clean. Close to Bremerton where we visited the USS Turner Joy and took a self-guided tour of this Naval destroyer. Thanks, Lorraine. Great VRBO rental.

Great place to stay when visiting Port Orchard.

  • 5 of 5

Two of my sisters, a nephew, a niece & I stayed at this lovely vacation rental home. We loved it! Unlike a hotel room, we had lots of space and privacy. We enjoyed being able to cook some of our meals there at the house; there's pots, pans dishes & much more. This home was perfect for my sister that has trouble walking; there are no steps/stairs inside or out. The home backs to woods which gives it a beautiful & tranquil setting. When we go on vacation we love playing board games and work puzzles. This home has an attractive large table that we gathered at & had lots of fun! We definitely will stay here again sometime!
