After teaching for thirty four years and maintaining cars, airplanes and properties for even longer, we have retired to a life of creating 'home'(s)along the west coast and sharing with others. Our Port Orchard home is a keeper! When we are not working on a home, in a yard, or on the computer, we are enjoying grandchildren, traveling, reading, walking with friends or 'workng out' at the YMCA.
Lorraine Heng purchased this house in 1986
We love the ambience, especially the fresh air, forests, clear skies and the natural beauty of the Puget Sound area. It is a great place to take a deep breath, relax, enjoy nature, and explore the wealth of outdoor activities. Being removed from the huslte and bustle of major cities, yet still having easy access to Seattle and other favorites like Gig Harbor, Silverspring, Tacoma, and British Columbia has been an important consideration for us.
One chief advantage of staying here is the price: It is very inexpensive for what you get. Also, access to downtown Seattle via the ferry is simple, yet pleasurable with fantasstic scenery along the way. Best of all the house is clean, comfortable, well equipped and very peaceful.
My two sisters, niece & nephew arrived yesterday & I arrived tonight. It's wonderful Lorraine! We all love it. You've done a great job with this charming home!
We are a military family who needed housing for about 2 months while we waited to move into our home. This place fit our needs perfectly. It is well stocked and very spacious. The owners are helpful and quick to respond. It is located on a quiet street with very little traffic, yet close to downtown and 2 miles from Walmart and other shopping. Our kids enjoyed watching the deer and other wildlife from the back deck. We would recommend this to families or anyone else needing temporary housing.
I stayed here with my 6 month old son for a little mommy/son bonding time while daddy stayed home with the pets. I had such a great time I booked a 4th day as we weren't ready to leave. The house was more than big enough for larger groups. The living room has a huge LCD tv and I know most folks appreciate that. It had everything I needed for cooking even though it was only for myself. There's a lot of light inside with all the windows and that's important to me. We didn't need the 3 bedrooms but they were all charming.it poured the entire time so we did a lot of driving and shopping. Port Orchard is a very cute little town. Silverdale is 15 minutes away and it has absolutely everything and every store you could think of! We went two days in a row because they have everything. Another great thing is this rental is on a private dead end room so you don't have to worry about noise except from nearby neighbors. The backyard has a beautiful view of a ravine. We had an amazing time and highly recommend this property. We stay in vrbo rentals every month or 2 and we're never disappointed.
Our family of four arrived for a ten day stay at this lovely vacation rental within easy walking distance of the Port Orchard downtown area.
The home was well stocked, very clean and comfortable making it cozy and easy to settle in to right away. The neighborhood was quiet, and my children even made a couple of friends to play with over the course of our stay.
The owners are very hospitable and greatly assisted us in connecting with the resources we needed to conduct our local business and fully enjoy our family vacation time. Hotels are nice for a couple of days, but it is so much more pleasant to be able to stretch out across several rooms when on a holiday with the family. I would absolutely stay here again and very well may on our next visit to the area.
The house was clean and charming but the amenities were lacking. There was a half roll of paper towels, and a quarter roll of toilet paper, there was no back up supply. I had to purchase these items myself. The owner did offer to reimburse me. The Internet did not work. I sent the owner an email, she replied the next day with a number for tech support. However when we tried to contact tech support we did not have enough info about the account to even get started. I sent another email to the owner but never received a reply. The kitchen was fairly well appointed, The dining room was very nice, a large table and spacious.
The only thing missing was a coat rack!! This place had all of the necessary items for a great home-stay. Well-located right above the touristy downtown, it afforded us easy access to all of the Black Friday sales. Dog-walking was easy through the peaceful neighborhood where this house is located. Plenty of room for our family get-to-gather with 3 well-furnished bedrooms. Plenty of everything and very clean. Close to Bremerton where we visited the USS Turner Joy and took a self-guided tour of this Naval destroyer. Thanks, Lorraine. Great VRBO rental.
Two of my sisters, a nephew, a niece & I stayed at this lovely vacation rental home. We loved it! Unlike a hotel room, we had lots of space and privacy. We enjoyed being able to cook some of our meals there at the house; there's pots, pans dishes & much more. This home was perfect for my sister that has trouble walking; there are no steps/stairs inside or out. The home backs to woods which gives it a beautiful & tranquil setting. When we go on vacation we love playing board games and work puzzles. This home has an attractive large table that we gathered at & had lots of fun! We definitely will stay here again sometime!
