PEACEFUL 1928 RESTORED FARMHOUSE FOR RENT

Eugene Farmhouse Rental Photos and Description

Farmhouse, 2 Bedrooms, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 2-5)

A Peaceful Sanctuary is a beautifully renovated 1928 farmhouse located on an acre of land, nestled in an 84 year old walnut grove. We are a working farm with Alpacas, Cashmere goats and chickens.

We are conveniently located 1 mile off I-5 exit 195A on the Eugene/Springfield border. Just 4 miles from the Uofo A Peaceful Sanctuary is perfect for visiting family, business meetings, vacations, Duck Games, Graduations, romantic getaways and as an extended stay.

Come treat yourself to total comfort by sleeping on 650 thread cotton sateen sheets and top of the line queen sized beds, one pillow top and the other firm. Each bedroom has a 19' flat screen TV with Comcast with Showtime, plus air conditioning. A home office is included for your convenience with a computer and high speed internet as well as wifi. The kitchen is fully equipped as well as a washer and dryer.

Much of the house is decorated by local artists work and antiques. The home with two bedrooms, is minutes from The UofO,The Saturday Market, Autzen Stadium Duck games and The Hult Center. The shuttle bus to Duck games is a block away and is the best way to travel to the game. We are close to a mall, theaters, post office and many restaurants, some walking distance away.

Located in the Willamette Valley, we are only an hour to the coast and the Cascade Mts. We are on the edge of town, with the city on one side and the wilderness on the other. Our farm faces the beautiful Coburg Hills and the crystal clear McKenzie River is a 5 minute walk. Swim and raft the River or take that leisurely stroll and watch the river flow.

Each morning you will receive freshly laid eggs by our hens who are naturally fed and free range as well as organic coffee and tea.

A Peaceful Sanctuary sells naturally fed chickens and eggs. Our hens are fed feed that is organically grown (not certified organic) with no soy or GMO's.Our Cashmere goats are leased out to people for blackberry and brush eradication as well as I collect their Cashmere to be spun.

We have 2 dozen hens, 142 newborn chicks, Opus and Regalo our Alpacas, 10 Cashmere goats, a kitty named Merlin and our rescue puppy Olivia.

The animals on our farm offer wonderful, heart warming experiences for children and adults a like. Children are always welcome to help me with farm chores, taking care of the animals and collecting the eggs.

If you never have had the experience of being with an Alpaca you are in for a treat. They are the lovers not fighters. Opus and Regalo are sweet, friendly and passive creatures that will give kisses for carrots, guaranteed to melt your heart.

Our rates are $125.00 per night for both bedrooms. Only needing one bedroom $105.00 per night. Over 4 guests an additional $10 per night per guest, plus 9.5% hotel tax and cleaning fee. The cleaning fee is $50.00 if the house is left as clean as when you arrived and the towels and sheets to be washed are on the back porch upon departure. If additional cleaning is needed it is at $25.00 an hr. For our guests with sensitivities please refrain from wearing perfume or cologne when staying at my home. The perfume and cologne permeate the sheets, blankets, pillows and quilts. It’s is very hard to get the smell out. We require a $200 deposit which will be refunded back to you within 24 hrs. Special rates apply for Duck Games, special events, holidays and Graduation. Please inquire about dates and summer rates.

It is my intention in opening my home for rent to offer comfort, bring happiness to people and make magical memories for children they will carry with them for a lifetime. Life is so challenging for many especially now. It is my way of creating a business that is green, brings peace to people and gives back to the community.

Pam Basilius purchased this farmhouse in 2000

The reason I chose to buy my house in this location was because of the beautiful land, views and very quaint, homey house and walking distance to the McKenzie River. It was a happy home with 11 children being raised here and you can tell there was a lot of love. We are a mile off I-5 and 4 miles drive to downtown Eugene. The feel of out in the country but close to everything.

We are 1928 working farm nestled in an old Walnut grove with very old vegetation and flowers. There are hummingbirds that feed daily and live here year round feed. The birds feed off feeders just a few feet from house. We are a 5 minute walk from the beautiful McKenzie River.

GREAT PLACE!

  • 5 of 5
My best friend from Portland met me there and we had a great "women's weekend." Loved all the animals and how quiet it was at night. Beds were comfy! Host was very helpful and super accommodating. Nice walks just outside the door. You'll love it!

USUAL SETTING

  • 5 of 5
We only spent one night at the farmhouse but would have loved to stay a little longer. It was a pleasant stay nevertheless. Pam was quick to respond to emails and was there shortly after we arrived to show us around the house and her little farm of chickens, alpacas and goats. She left us a basketful of eggs from her chickens which we had for breakfast. She also made sure we had butter, bread and coffee for breakfast. As promised she also refunded us the security deposit within a day unlike most other owners who can take a couple of weeks or needed to be reminded.

LOVED IT! A TOTAL 5 STAR

  • 5 of 5
Pam is a wonderful host who also gives complete privacy......but she's there to ensure you get your fresh eggs, coffee and have everything you need. If you want to hear more about the farm, the animals and raising animals in a sustainable environment, she is more than happy to show you around.
This was such a relaxing and comfortable place to be for a few nights for us. Very convenient to getting into Eugene as well. The house is well stocked with everything you need.

STAY AT FARMHOUSE

  • 5 of 5
Comfortable, very clean, peaceful and restful. The ambience of the farmhouse is excellent.
I would strongly recommend this for patients and families of patients receiving care at Sacred Heart. Convenient and very restful place to recuperate or for families to wait and be near their loved ones receiving care at the SHMC facilities.

AMAIZING...

  • 2 of 5
All is forbiden in this house... papers on all the walls of the house to say what you have to do...
The beautiful door in the front of the house is not available !!!
You have to take a door behind the house close to the flat the owner...
Chikens are everywhere...

And at the end big surprise : Pam stole us the caution because we used cologne in her house . But nowhere it's indicated that cologne is forbiden in her house...

So she took our caution for her ...

Owner's Response: I regret you were not happy with your stay. We do send our guests info sheets which has been very helpful and appreciated by our guests staying at the farm. The guest info sheets states that no cologne or perfume is allowed out of respect for guests with sensitivities and the with difficulty in getting the smell out of the house. The house was saturated with cologne. The sheets and bedding had to be washed twice which was 7 loads total and housekeeping came out 5 times to wash down walls, doors, etc. We were unable to rent the house for two weeks.

We do ask our guests to use the back door and to take their shoes off on the back porch because this is a farm located on black river bottom soil. This preserves our beautiful Persian rugs and keeps the house clean for our guests.

Yes, we are a working farm that raises and sells chickens. The chickens have their own pasture away from the house.

If a guest needs anything, does not understand the liability contract or guest information sheet, I am more than happy to help in any way I can. It is our goal to make your stay easy, relaxing and enjoyable.
