About Kaye Williams

I have been enjoying Hudson for over 40 years. My parents bought the lot from my aunt and uncle and then when both my parents passed away I bought it from my brothers and built a house here. I love the water and exploring all depths of it in and around where we are. I drive all our boats, fish, love to ski, sun and just hang out on the islands all day. I have 4 children that love the water as much as I do and 5 grandkids that are beginning to feel the same way...a couple are still a little young. I used to teach physical education, but now I am enjoying living in Hudson making beach crafts in my garage and selling them in my driveway. Also looking for new ideas...bring them with you if you have any please.

Kaye Williams purchased this mobile home in 2008

Why Kaye Williams chose Hudson

The rental is right next door to my home. I have a pool that my guests are welcome to use.

What makes this mobile home unique

There are numerous places to eat in walking distance to my place. There is an ice cream shop a block away that has karoke a couple nights a week. The beach is a block away. Two of the eating establishments on my road has live entertainment for dancing if you feel the urge. There are marinas a block either way where you can rent boats, go charter fishing or you can just take my kayak out and fish the flats yourself. I also provide charters in my boats. You are only 15 minutes from a Casino gambling boat and about 1 hour away from Seminole Hard Rock Casino in Tampa as well as Busch Gardens/Adventure Island. Orlando with all its attractions are about 2 hours away. Anclote Key is about a 30 minute drive in the boat and Caladesi Island (was ranked #1 beach in US) is about an hour away by boat or you can drive to Dunedin or Honeymoon Island and take a ferry boat there as well. There is just so much to do in Florida and we are centrally located smack dab in the middle just about. Scalloping is allowed from July through September north of Aripeka.

Lots of fun

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed the dock, the Tiki hut, the fishing trip and the restaurants we walked to each night. We also loved the home made ice cream at the local beach we walked to daily. Beautiful sunsets. Very relaxing and fun. Our son caught fish off the dock. Good place. Kaye and Cole were great hosts.

Disappointing.

  • 1 of 5

The pictures are very deceiving as the unit is clean when they were taken. The beach is disgusting and not swimmable, but I did know that prior to booking. My concern is the walls and dust/dirt in the windows and tub. The floor turned my feet black, we had to wear shoes from the start. Stains or dirty (not sure which) comforters and sheets. We washed sheets before sleeping on them. The unit could be great if you just want a place to relax with no beach. It was just dirty. Also we PAID for a "guided" fishing trip however when a larger fish was caught the "guide" got excited and reeled it in. Not sure why we paid for them to fish?????? Generally the payee reels all fish with a professional trip. The poles brought were not suitable, in fact at home we would have thrown them away. I have taken many fishing trips over the past 12 years and this was shocking to comical. Also, was asked to not tell anyone they kept the fish that was not legal to take home---really??? Glad we paid for you to illegally fish. Be careful and know what you are getting. as I could have rented a nice condo for same money in Clearwater or St. Pete. I don't mind old or trailer, but I expect clean and honorable services.

Owner's Response: Stephanie, This is so weird that you wrote this about my place when in fact I made a note to never rent to you ever again for the way you left it. I had 3 pull out couches that were left out and broken. One I had to get rid of completely. I must admit it was always hard for us to close as well so I don't blame your crowd for that. I kept them because I thought by having more sleeping room it would help business, but then I got you and your friends. I did have the windows all open because the weather has been so nice and that might have been a bad time, since I was doing a lot wood working that week. The saw dust does get in the pool, so I imagine it does get through the screens. I am glad to be aware of this, so thanks for bringing it to my attention. I will close the windows from now on. I suppose that is why you closed them and kept the 4 ton air conditioner running continuously. You must have had it set on 60 for that to happen. Using all the blankets in the place proved that to me as well. The deal with the fishing trip I can't even believe you have the nerve to complain. We waited over 2 hours on your boys to get back from their competition to try to make them happy. We couldn't go out as far as we usually do to catch the fish we usually catch, because it was so late in the day. I think it was 4:00 pm by that time. Sean caught many fish, but the boys would not listen to us about keeping it right off the bottom and wait for the fish. They would just keep casting and reeling. We went to a new hole close to shore right before coming in and yes, I did catch what I knew was a big one. If I had taken my rod all the way to the front of the boat where one of the boys were then it would have been gone. You can't give it slack. The fish we caught were all legal size.

Hudson Stay

  • 5 of 5

Had a great time! Kaye and Cole were gracious hosts. I got to fish off the dock and caught a Redfish. yellowtail and red snapper, Sheepshead and Grey or Mangrove Snappers. 4 good seafood restaurants really nearby.

Very restful for us old folks.

Owner's Response: Thanks Lyle...we enjoyed having you even though you showed us up with that 19" redfish and sheephead you caught. I can't believe you threw the sheephead back. Hope to see you again

GOOD TIME

  • 5 of 5

KAYE AND COLE WERE GRACIOUS HOSTS. Place was comfortable. Caught more fish off their dock than any of our other trips to Florida, Redfish, Yellow tail and Red Snapper, Grey or Marsh Snapper and Sheepshead.

They don't bite every day, but I fished in comfort from a padded chair from the Tiki Hut. Great Seafood Restaurants nearby. Loved our stay!

Perfect Family Weekend

  • 5 of 5

Couldn't have asked for better hosts than Kaye and Cole. They both went out of their way to make sure we all had a wonderful time. It was the perfect "before school" weekend for the kids.

The tiki hut and dock is where we spent most of our time. We loved every minute of our time out there enjoying the water. Definitely have them take you out on the boat of you go. (My son is still smiling from our boat time)

There were five of us, 3 adults and 2 children... The house was a great fit for us. Plenty of room for everyone. Lots of places within walking distance for entertainment as well (food, dancing, cocktails).

We can't wait to go back for another weekend. Thanks again Kaye!

A little slice of paradise!

  • 5 of 5

This is probably the nicest place I have ever rented! Yes, it is a trailer, but the location is great and when you are inside you hardly even notice. The property is wonderful. The tiki hut was so nice we ate every evening meal there. The location is right on a channel out to the Gulf of Mexico. The owner lives right next door with a pool that you have complete access to. I would recommend this property to virtually anyone! We will be back in the future!
