Even though Lake Travis is very low, due to an ongoing drought, we have a wonderful, large swimming pool to cool off in.This comfortable, waterfront, rustic cottage on the shores of Lake Travis, in a natual, wooded setting, is perfect for families or couples or girlfriend gatherings who want to kick back on the large deck overlooking the pool and lake to watch the beautiful sunset. Swim in the crystal blue water of our large private pool, or just relax and enjoy the sun and the breeze. . You'll feel like you're in a secluded tree house as you grill steaks or burgers under the trees by our great deck and watch the sun go down, then enjoy your meal outside on the deck or by the pool. The cottage is warm, cozy, private and comfortable and has all the ammenities that you would need plus all hardwood floors and wood paneling. You'll feel like you're 'away from it all', and yet you are so close to the many attractions of Austin. The cottage is located only about 15 minutes away from prime shopping like the new Hill Country Galleria Mall, and is close to many restaurants like the Oasis, Iguana Grill, Rocco's, and many others. About Cynthia Everist

My husband, John, and I bought our beloved lakehouse in 1994 for the use and pleasure of ourselves and our children and grandchildren. We celebrated every holiday, except Christmas, at the lakehouse and it is filled with years of wonderful memories. It was such a serene and peaceful getaway for John and me, away from all the cares of the world until my world was shattered lin 2008 when John died. Knowing that the lakehouse would never be the same for me, without John, one of our sons, who has a vacation rental house, suggested that I give it a try. So, I hoped that other people would enjoy the house and the wonderful natural setting, great decks and our large private pool. Our first two seasons were very successful and our guests loved the house, the setting and the location.

We absolutely fell in love with the location of the lakehouse. It is a beautiful, wooded lot and is only about 30-35 minutes to our home in town and about the same distance to downtown Austin. Although the location is very secluded and private, there is wonderful shopping, entertainment and great restaurants within a short drive from the house.

What makes this house unique

We have a really large private pool that was refinished and retiled in 2009. Beautiful!

Lovely home, beautiful pool

We came to Spicewood to celebrate a first birthday in the family. This house was ideally located only 10 minutes from our destination and very close to lots of shopping, restaurants and other areas of interest. We saw deer in the mornings and at night. The house was cozy and very secluded. The pool was pristine and the water was a beautiful blue. Sitting at the pool, watching the sunset was lovely. Even though the lake was very low, the sunsets were still beautiful in between all of the nice trees on the property. Cynthia was a very gratious hostess and we will return.

Birthday weekend

This is the second time I've stayed here for my birthday weekend. The home is very cozy, has many amenities and the pool is fantastic (especially since there's not much lake right now). The owner is very accommodating and I'm so happy that she is willing to share her lake house!

We were there for 3 nights and it was a wonderfully relaxing time... one of my favorite things was reading on the deck in the mornings. It was the most peaceful place I've been in a long time. I hated to leave and am already trying to figure out when we can go back!!

Ladies Weekend

We were six girlfriends who had one birthday to celebrate and who needed a chilled-out weekend away. We all live in Austin, so the drive was close. We loved our time at the house - the pool was heaven. The lake was very low but it didn't matter much because we were able to float and cool off with easy access to the house for snacks, beverages and magazines. The house was very comfortable and if you bring in your food - there is no need to leave for anything. The house was very clean and the owners are easy to reach and were very accomodating on our short notice. We'd go back in a heartbeat. Thank You!!!

The lake house

Our family had a great time at the lakehouse. The house is not posh, but definately cozy with all the comforts you need. The biggest plus is the huge swimming pool, which is such an added bonus, especially now the lake level is so low. We felt like it was a tree house, with the trees surrounding the house and deck. We loved that it was only a 15 min. drive to the Galleria with so many shops, grocery store and lots of restaurants to pick from, it was hard to decide where to eat. It was idealy located to visit many tourist attractions that the Texas Hill Country has to offer (Mansfield Dam, Inner Space Caverns & renting a boat on the lake). We loved watching the beautiful sunsets whilst sitting on the deck. We even got to see a shooting star!

The property was wonderful! We had our annual girl's weekend there and it couldn't have been better. We absolutely loved the privacy! The pool, deck, and house were all great and met all of our expectations.
