Nothing says 'Vacation' like a cabin in the mountains. Located less than 3 minutes from Main Street in downtown Highlands, this convenient getaway has it all. Life at Camp Carlee is relaxed and inviting; it's warm fires, cool evenings and great memories.
This professionally designed retreat has an open great room with vaulted ceilings, wood beams and stone fireplace. The great room features custom lighting, a flat screen television with DVD player, Bose stereo, and many natural details to make you feel at home. Additionally, it offers dining for six and a spacious living room, which opens onto the screened porch. The well-appointed kitchen and stainless steel gas grill provide the perfect combination for a night of entertaining or a nice meal with the family. For those who prefer some quiet time or like to make the most of a rainy day, choose a book from the library to read in the leather chairs, play board games or browse the wireless internet from any location you choose. This cabin boasts two master suites, each with its own balcony, king-sized bed, LCD/DVD television and private bathroom. Each room features egyptian cotton sheets, warm quilts and down comforters. If additional sleeping space is needed, the queen size sleeper sofa in the great room is also very comfortable.
For the adventuresome, white water rafting, fishing, mountain biking and repelling are close by. If you are in search of an easy day trip, take a hike up to Whiteside Mountain or nearby Glen Falls. For those who appreciate the arts; enjoy the professional summer theatre or the highly acclaimed Chamber Music Festival. Camp Carlee's close proximity to town makes a stroll along Main Street enjoyable for everyone.
After the day's activities, take in a nightcap on the screened porch and enjoy the calm evening surrounded by nature. Whatever you are looking for, you are sure to find it at Camp Carlee.
Currently living and working in northwest Florida, we often find our minds wandering to the mountains of western North Carolina. Although we are not able to spend as much time as we would like in Highlands, that leaves more time available for guests to stay at our cabin. Any time of year is a great time to enjoy the wide range of scenic wonders and events this area has to offer.
