'Baan Khating' , named after the large, flowering tree in the central terrace, is part of Koh Jum Beach Villas - a unique beachfront property development on the island of Koh Jum, Krabi, Thailand. An abundance of trees and flowers surround this custom built, private, luxury beach front home, in an eco-resort environment on Koh Jum. Koh Jum, also known as Jum Island or Koh Pu Island, is easily accessible from Krabi International Airport, yet feels a world away. It is perfect for those wanting to immerse themselves in natural tropical island beauty with little tourism.

This house is right on the beach....nothing between you and the gentle sea except a couple palm trees and fragrant local flora. From your front deck to the West, watch the sunset over the Andaman sea and behind Koh Phi Phi, to the South undeveloped coastal beachfront stretches for 300 meters. The pool ( non-toxic and environmentally friendly filtration) is 30 steps to the North and is shared with only a handful of houses. The restaurant and quiet lounge are just behind the pool. Behind the house are cashew trees and gardens. This is tranquil island living at its best.

Enjoy indoor-outdoor living as teak folding doors open to cooling sea breezes. Built as 4 separate "pods" connected together by decks, this timber-framed home is ideal for families who enjoy meals and social time together, yet want plenty of privacy and space.

About The Owner

We already knew the magic of Koh Jum island, and were verv happy to have the opportunity to build our own beachfront dream home. We enjoy gathering together with friends and family during our vacations and built a home which allows privacy as well as large spaces for gathering together.

The Owner purchased this house in 2007

Almost every room offers a splendid view of the sunsets behind Koh Phi Phi. The sound of the sea, the abundant green space and birds around us all hold the promise of kayaking, diving, beachcombing and walks in botanical gardens.

My family has come to treasure our get aways to Koh Jum. There are many lovely beaches in Thailand, but none match the perfect combination we found at Koh Jum Villas.
There are four main reasons we keep coming back: the comfort and location of the villas right on the beach; the fresh food and friendly service at the restaurant; the long stretch of beach where we take our daily walk; and the clear waters where you can swim into the sunset each evening as the tide comes back in. We also recommend scuba diving from Koh Jum - it is a unique experience.
We have found that time ends up standing still when we're on the island. That is why we do not hesitate to recommend Koh Jum Villas for those who are looking for a truly relaxing vacation - with something for every member of the family.

Staying here was a dream vacation for our family. The view from the living room out onto the beach and the sea is magnificent, the bedrooms lovely, and the overall environment serene and deeply relaxing. The restaurant next to the pool offers delicious Asian and Western food, and the fresh fish was always superb. Everyone involved in managing and taking care of the property is friendly and helpful. We can't wait to go back.

I came across Koh Jum Beach Villa by accident on the internet. At first we were kind of apprehensive but decided to take a chance and boy were we glad that we did. If you want to go to a place where there's a lot of tourists, vendors, restaurants, etc, go to Phi Phi Island. If you want a unique, once-in-a-lifetime, on-a-deserted-island-but-with-unbelievably-luxurious-accomodations kind of vacation, then go to Koh Jum Beach Villa. The beach is a few feet in front of the villa and if you're lucky, you might see a handful of people walking by. If you start missing the crowd and action, there's several islands nearby that is only a short boat ride away.

Koh Jum is one of the last gems of an island in South Thailand. Our stay here was one of the best in years and we truly enjoyed the villa, the food, the hospitality and of course the beach.
