Just a two minute walk (150 m) to gorgeous Samara Beach, Casa dos Loros is nestled just inside the coastal Costa Rican rain forest. You can see the ocean through the trees from the living room windows. The house sits on a half acre lot with a natural private garden where you will find monkeys feeding on the many wild mango varieties, papayas, and many other tropical plants and animals.
Samara Beach stretches about 3 km end to end and Casa dos Loros is located at the far end of Samara beach, away from the hustle and bustle of town. Just at the right angle to enjoy beach sunsets and the closest distance for canoeing or swimming to Choro Island. The main downtown is a 20 minute walk along the beach or a 5 minute drive in your rental car.
Guests will enjoy the modernly equipped home, built in 2005. Two large bedrooms each have a private bathroom, king sized beds and air-conditioning. Prepare home cooked meals in the fully equipped kitchen. A TV with DVD player, and CD player stereo system are available. Bring your own DVDs and CDs!
The house has a washer and dryer, internet through a USB stick, two bikes to enjoy the surroundings or bike to town in low tide. During check-in renters will get a local cell phone to plan vacation activities with more comfort. Beach chairs, towels, beach tent and boogie boards are also there for you to enjoy. The house porch with the hammock and the outdoor table are a favorite for all renters enjoying outside meals or reading a book while listening to the rain forest.

Thank you so much for opening up your house. We had a great vacation, very relaxing.
Your home was perfect! I can't think of a single thing I would have had different.
Thanks for sharing. By the way I have 3 other people who have asked for your web site to look into your house for their trip. I hope they call!!
I live in the San Francisco Bay Area, in Palo Alto, CA. My daughter Ayla, 3 1/2 months old in this picture, was born in January 2009 and we have been comming to Samara since she was 3 months old. I work for a software company in silicon valley and every year we find the time to visit Samara. When in Samara there is nothing better than playing with my daughter in the beach and watching the sunset every evening.
I lived in Samara for one year in 2003 and had a wonderful experience, personally got to know the town and its inhabitants while teaching math at the local grade school. In 2007 I returned to Samara and decided to buy a property in what we consider one of the most beautiful places on earth.
Casa dos Loros is located on the quite, less populated side of the beach right next to a local fishing village. Staying here you experience tranquility, privacy, a taste of local culture, with all the amenities of town 5 minutes away by car or 20 minutes walking along the beach. The beach is super accessible, just a one minute walk from the house.
All renters complement the backyard wild life. As one renter wrote in the guest book “A National Geographic in your backyard”. It is true from monkeys in the trees to iguanas, red squirrels, various types of birds, butterflies to Halloween crabs in the rainy season. If you enjoy fishing you will most likely experience sittings of turtles, dolphins and whales which adds up to catching a Mahi Mahi or Red Snaper.
