The Whaler is the only Condo resort on Kaanapali Beach located 50 feet from the ocean front with the white sand swimming beach, rated one of the 10 Best, of the 'Worlds Best Beaches' and Maui's #1 best beach.

This luxury unit is located in the quiet part of the complex, on the most private side of Tower 1. Being on the North side of the complex, the condo does not look into other units across the courtyard, and is 2 floors above the hotel next door. The 14 'stack' are the closest Studios to the ocean front. Lull yourself to sleep with the sound of the surf.

Providing maximum comfort and peace, the Lanai balcony has outstanding views of the Ocean, Black Rock, Molokai, Winter Humpback Whales, Summer Sunsets, and the ever present Maui Rainbows, while enjoying a sunny morning breakfast, afternoon shade, and Black Rock's nightly torch lighting.

Totally remodeled including all new Light Maple cabinetry throughout the Kitchen, Bath, Vanity and Walk-in Closet with 'California Closet' style system of drawers, cubbies, hanging storage and luggage rack.

Professionally decorated, and furnished 'Island style'. Expanded to a 'U shape', the full size enlarged, totally equipped Kitchen has paneled Sub Zero Frig/Ice & Bosch dishwasher. Granite countertops in the Kitchen and Vanity dressing area with mirror surround. Perfect location

My fiancé and I stayed here for 10 days in April 2014. We had a fabulous stay in this apartment. It was updated and clean with a well-equipped kitchen. The bed was super comfortable and it just felt very inviting. We loved the view from the lanai and spent many evenings watching the sunset out there. The whaler doesn't have many amenities (just a basic pool and hot tub area) but the staff was very nice and the grounds were always clean. You can walk from this apartment five minutes along the ocean and you're at Whaler's Village where there are some great restaurants and shops. The restaurants are expectedly touristy, but the view and ease is worth it. We rented a car and loved having this place as our home base. Kaanapali Beach is amazing and I would definitely recommend staying in this area--especially at this apartment!

Beautiful Condo, But

The condo was great, beautiful view both directions, ocean & mountains.
Condo came equipped with almost everything you would need. Umbrella (broken) only 1 sand chair and a couple boogie boards.Hair dryer was also broken.
Kitchen fully equipped. Condo decorated nicely and very clean. Bed very comfy.
Regarding location, Whalers Village was great! Absolutely beautiful beach, pool area nice. We never needed a car except when we went zip lining (rode with relatives). At first really wanted to stay at a resort, dining, bar etc. but Whalers Village is right next door with wonderful restaurants and bar areas, loved Hula Grill! Sneak over to the Westin wonderful pool area (they don't check room keys)
Now the down side...
Owner not helpful at all. I had lots of family staying at the condo's and the owners of their condo's helped with recommendations, suggestions etc, I never got an email back after twice asking for suggestions, guess not her job, but would have been nice, maybe she could just write a generic one to send out...
The worst thing....The building next door is low so does not block your views of black rock which is great, BUT their air conditioning units ran non stop and were VERY loud! We could not leave our slider open and sitting on the patio was SOOOO noisy; humming and vibrating, ugh! Luckily we were gone alot, but evening and mornings so disappointing not to sit on balcony for coffee or a glass of wine....
I know the condo owner couldn't do anything about that, but I wouldn't stay there again due to the noise (our family stayed on the court yard side and was sooo peaceful).
The condo was very reasonably priced for what you get, it is a beautiful unit.

Owner's Response: For the past 10 years, we, and all of our guests have enjoyed sitting on the lanai, listening to the sound of the ocean and leaving the lanai doors open at night. This guest has a hearing issue, and it would have been best to turn off the aid which apparently enhanced the A/C hum from the 6 story hotel next door. Sand chairs, umbrella and cooler are not part of the condo rental. We do provide them, but cannot guarantee the condition, as they are not something housekeeping takes care of.

A studio with a fabulous view! The whaler is in a great location right on the beach and close to all the activities offered in Kaanapali.
The studio itself has an attractive kitchen but two days in to my 3 week stay the stove stopped working and never got fixed. The bathroom as a previous reviewer stated is tired. The location of the unit is right beside the elevators so you do get to hear your neighbors coming and going. Generally a nice unit and very clean,Maui regular but not quite as nice as the writeup had me thinking it would be.

Owner's Response: The controller for the range has been replaced. The electronic part was not available on island. A new replacement drop-in range for the remodeled kitchen was also not available on-island. The Studio is located on the North side of Tower 1, while the elevator bank is across the hallway in the foray on the South side.

Perfect Location in Kaanapali Beach

The location of the Whaler is absolutely perfect for enjoying the pleasures of the Kaanapali Beach area. Directly in front of the Whaler towers is an incredible beach area for lounging with excellent restaurants just a minute walk down to Whalers Village. Access to some terrific, albeit busy, snorkeling at Black Rock is just a few minutes walk down the beach.
The condo itself was great and everything we needed. It was a good size for a couple. It had a great set up and was very clean and in good condition. The view of Black Rock from the patio is beautiful. We would definitely stay again.

Location, location location.

This is my seventh trip to the Whaler, although my first to this unit. I don't believe you can beat this location, particularly if you stay in this tower. The proximity to Whalers Village and Lahaina is unbeatable.

This unit is configured so the view from the bed is of the West Maui mountains, rather than Black Rock and the ocean, but the view from the lanai is stunning. The kitchen is newer and very functional, the bathroom is clean but tired and the bed was definitely on the firm side. Never could get the Wifi to work, but I was able to get on another unsecured feed one floor above.

Parking is only $12.50 a day, the gym is basic but adequate, and the outdoor BBQs are situated with the best view of the beach!
