This luxury unit is located in the quiet part of the complex, on the most private side of Tower 1. Being on the North side of the complex, the condo does not look into other units across the courtyard, and is 2 floors above the hotel next door. The 14 'stack' are the closest Studios to the ocean front. Lull yourself to sleep with the sound of the surf.

Providing maximum comfort and peace, the Lanai balcony has outstanding views of the Ocean, Black Rock, Molokai, Winter Humpback Whales, Summer Sunsets, and the ever present Maui Rainbows, while enjoying a sunny morning breakfast, afternoon shade, and Black Rock's nightly torch lighting.

Wonderfully upgraded, totally remodeled and designer furnished, with a great intimate lanai and a spectacular view of Black Rock.

Perfect Location in Kaanapali Beach

The location of the Whaler is absolutely perfect for enjoying the pleasures of the Kaanapali Beach area. Directly in front of the Whaler towers is an incredible beach area for lounging with excellent restaurants just a minute walk down to Whalers Village. Access to some terrific, albeit busy, snorkeling at Black Rock is just a few minutes walk down the beach.
The condo itself was great and everything we needed. It was a good size for a couple. It had a great set up and was very clean and in good condition. The view of Black Rock from the patio is beautiful. We would definitely stay again.

This is my seventh trip to the Whaler, although my first to this unit. I don't believe you can beat this location, particularly if you stay in this tower. The proximity to Whalers Village and Lahaina is unbeatable.

This unit is configured so the view from the bed is of the West Maui mountains, rather than Black Rock and the ocean, but the view from the lanai is stunning. The kitchen is newer and very functional, the bathroom is clean but tired and the bed was definitely on the firm side. Never could get the Wifi to work, but I was able to get on another unsecured feed one floor above.

Parking is only $12.50 a day, the gym is basic but adequate, and the outdoor BBQs are situated with the best view of the beach!

Every trip to Maui was to kihei/wailea and am I every glad we chose kaanapali instead! The challenge was locating the perfect condo. We could not have ended up at a better location. Being south of black rock is crucial as being north in some of the other condos require a car for everything. Thankfully, The Whaler is right next to Whaler's village which has some small quaint shops. Specially wandering out for a frozen yogourt or Haagen daaz in the evenings was lovely. Or just needing a bandaid etc...there was also some good retail like Louis Vuitton and coach if you feel you need you "wailea fix".

Now, as for the condo. We could not have been more pleased. The building next door is short which is important to mention as you really do get sweeping views from this unit which would not happen on the other side of the tower. We spend our happy hours on the deck watching the whales frolick.

The mattress quality was excellent. Sadly this is usually my complaint on travels as we have spoiled ourself at home and only the four seasons and ritz compares but the mattress allowed us to enjoy wonderful sleeps with the patio doors wide open all night.

The suite was very well appointed with most of what we could ask for for the meals we prepared with a full size sub zero fridge and large walk in closet and storage.

There were even coolers for day trips and beach chairs and an umbrella. We left behind out brand new air mattresses for others's use.

The decor was well appointed and very clean. We were extremely comfortable at this condo. We would definitely recommend it to friends. For a studio it was quite large and we still had a good sitting area and desk to work at and four person kitchen table.

By the way, great restaurants to try in lahaina are :mala. Brilliant organic foods and complex flavour combinations and fleetwood's: excellent food quality and preparation, suitable for families

The only items I would suggest if I may would be: BBQ utensils (or at least just a set of BBQ thongs), plastic closed cups for taking beverages down to pool/ beach/ BBQ area, a few more facecloths (there were only 2 for each person which get stinky after a day each so we were doing laundry on day 3), and a second set of sheets (when staying eight nights without housekeeping you need to change sheets at least once and it would have been nice to not have to wait to laundry to remake the bed).

These are minor things that would make this suite a 10.

The condo was wonderful and exactly as described, with an excellent view of the ocean from the private balcony. It has beautiful marble finishes and a great kitchen... everything you want or need is provided for you. It's also very clean. Huge closet was great! Absolutely perfect for a couple. The location is perfect, right next to restaurants and the shopping center. We didn't use or need a car for the first few days and only rented one when we wanted to explore the island. If you're not planning on leaving Kaanapali/Lahaina you don't need a car. We LOVED our stay and will be recommending the unit to friends who visit! Mahalo!
