Indre-et-Loire Vacation Rental farmhouse: La Petit Pressigny

Cottage was quite nice but services were below standard -

* 3 washing machines but no clothes dryer (though it said on the list of services that a dryer was available) - and arriving on a wet day after already having 2 weeks holidays meant that we needed clothes washed.

* as nowhere for clothes to dry (other than on a clothes line in the rain - and it rained also for the next 3 days) we asked for the heating so at least the clothes could dry inside - an extra charge was imposed.

* though wifi access is advertised (and a major reason for us picking this property as some businesses to still run) it was down and we needed to plug into the owners direct line once a day and wait another day for ability to respond to queries - though apparently even if it was working one must sit in the garden to get access (not very suitable if poor weather or wanting to do some work).

* unless the property was cleaned at the end there was a surcharge - and as we swept it and wiped down the bathroom one can only assume that they also wanted sheets washed etc as they just took the money from the advance bond of EUR200.

To be totally fair the other way - we wanted to stay for 9 nights and were offered it for the same price as the advertised 7.

... and the fruit trees in the garden produced fruit to simply die for - so sweet.


Location wise it is probably about 40 minutes south of the being in the best location for touring - best chateaus are north west or north east. Also whilst beautifully secluded - it is probably a bit too much ... about 25 minutes drive to get some basic necessities.
