Nestled within a grove of birch, beech and maple trees sits a rare vacation home in Lake Placid. An extra special treat for Ironman competitors and their family as it is situated in the middle of the swimming race course on the Village side of the Lake. Camp Kreil is also an ideal spot for Christmas and other winter vacation time as it offers a variety of outdoor options.

On the shores of beautiful Mirror Lake and located in the middle of the Olympic Village of Lake Placid, this 3 bedroom home provides it all... swim beach, pristine mountain lake, views of the high peaks including Whiteface Mt., sailboats and kayaks for summer play, 2 docks as well as creature comforts including Hot Tub, TV's, 3 Complete bedrooms, Jacuzzi tub in Master Bath, Wireless Internet, stereo with CD or plug in your IPod, dining room, living room and patio table with umbrella!

Fully furnished with all linen, towels and even spices and condiments stocked ahead to start you out!

In the winter, step outside your door and slip on some cross country skis and take a tour around Mirror Lake stopping by the renowned 'Cottage' at the Mirror Lake Inn. Cross Country skis are available on site as well as some boots. While you're located only steps away from all of Lake Placid's shops and restaurants you'll enjoy the privacy and quiet that this unique setting offers. You feel as though you're in the middle of the woods or your own private island!

This home is part of a historic building that is also owned by the condo owner containing 8 other condo's and apartments although they are all situated on other levels and are not connected in any way to this owner's condo and do not have access to the private waterfront.

Enjoy the Bavarian knick-knacks that are complimented with scenes of skiing and golf. Owned by Ed Kreil, the Director of Whiteface Mt.'s Adult Ski School for many years as well as being a certified PGA Golf Teaching Pro, this home will feel like your home with its comfort and setting.

Your well behaved, trained dog is welcomed at Camp Kreil. We're sorry but we can't allow cats due to potential allergy problems.

About Mark Sperling

I've been Ski School Director for Whiteface Mt. for many years as well as PGA Teaching Pro. For many years, my wife and I ran Goldberries Restaurant on Main Street in Lake Placid.

In addition to skiing, I love kite boarding, roller blading, traveling and enjoyable times with friends and family! Lake Placid is a fantastic town for everything you might like to do....recreating in the outdoors, great dining, entertainment...you name it, we've got it!

Why Mark Sperling chose Lake Placid

Great town as it's a destination resort community having served as an Olympic site twice in its history. Lake Placid is still an Olympic training center and is host to a wide variety of sporting events.

What makes this apartment unique

I like to be able to walk out of my bedroom, into the hot tub and then another 15 yards or so to my beach and the Lake. A great way to start the morning with a nice swim and again at night!

My beach and docks are private to this vacation property only. I always keep a sailboat tied up for my renters to use as they like as well as having a couple of kayaks all set to go as well. Every Wed and Thursday in the summer you can take a kayak about 5 minutes down the Lake and enjoy a concert going on from the bandshell on the shores of Mirror Lake. It's a great way to enjoy and recreate without having to get in a car and drive!

Incredible Place!!!

There simply can't be a better place to stay in Lake Placid. This lovely home sits right on Mirror Lake and feels completely secluded from downtown, and yet all you have to do is climb a couple of flights of stairs and you find yourself in the middle of town.

We visited in August 2012 with our two daughters (8 and 5) and everyone had a blast. Between the lake, the hot tub and the easy proximity to everything in town, it really is the perfect combination of features. And, like every review says, Ed is a fabulous guy, eager to have his guests enjoy themselves and feel comfortable.

If you're looking to stay in Lake Placid, look no further. Camp Kreil is the place to go!

An awesome retreat

I rented this for Ironman 2012 and had a great time. Eddy was wonderful and the condo looks just like the photos - it is pristine! My parent and my family all stayed (including 2 black labs) and there was plenty of room for everyone. You can see the swim start from the dock and it is walking distance to the Oval to see the athletes come and go. My boys (11 and 13) had a great time with the paddle boards, boats, canoes and surf board all in the back yard. They felt they never needed to leave the back yard because you have the lake at your feet and if the water was too cold you always had the hot tub. If you are doing IM in 2014 - grab it, you won't be sorry.

We had a fantastic time. Place was even better than described. The setting was so private and yet in the middle of Main Street.
Ed, the owner was the best. So very accommodating. We can not wait to go back again. The lake and the view was exceptional. The best place to see the 4th of July fireworks. The kayaks were so much fun...

Wonderful home that is in a picture perfect setting. The yard, lake front offers complete privacy, unbelievable considering the shops and eateries along the main street just yards away! We enjoyed kayaking on shimmering Mirror Lake, hiking on the high peaks then relaxing in the comfortable, exquisitely decorated home, and hot tub. Thanks for a great getaway!
