HORSESHOE CABIN - RANCH VIEW IN ASPEN TREES

Jackson Hole Cabin Rental Photos and Description

Cabin, 3 Bedroom + Loft, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 7)

Cabin set in aspen trees at top of hill. Views of Big Hole Mountains, sunsets, and just the tip of The Grand! We are 6 miles from Driggs ID (great grocery store) and 45 miles from Jackson WY. Large deck on back in trees, also front porch. Fish on the Teton River 5 minutes away. Peaceful location, gorgeous views, just a short drive from the hustle bustle and fun of Jackson. Enjoy your stay on 'the quiet side of the Tetons!'

Cabin has new windows and new kitchen. One bedroom with queen bed upstairs, one full bathroom with tub upstairs, and loft with single daybed upstairs. Two more bedrooms and full bath (shower) on mail level.

The cabin is located 7 miles from Driggs and Ski Hill Road - the road that goes up to Grand Targhee for skiing, horseback riding, and concerts. One hour drive over the pass to ski in Jackson Hole.

Great kayaking on the Teton and Snake Rivers and mountain biking in the Big Hole Mountains. Fly-fishing at Leigh Creek, Teton River, and Henry's Fork. Small town of Driggs with cute restaurants, wine store, and shops is a three mile drive.

Jackson Hole (55 minute drive) is full of art galleries, shopping, museums, restaurants, float trips on the Snake, as well as cross-country and downhill skiing. Idaho Falls and Jackson airports are both 75 minute away. Yellowstone National Park is 100 miles north - enter at West Yellowstone. Island Park and Henry's Fork, an area of world famous fly fishing, is 40 minutes north.

Guestbook comments from the owner
We really liked the cabin and the location. I liked the Log Cabin decor. But the lighting in the bathrooms was not bright enough, and it was difficult to get in the large soaking tub - we needed a step. We did however like the double shower which was very roomy. The single mattresses on the floor were not comfortable for a couple over 50, so the cabin doesn't really work for two couples. It would be fine for a couple and their children. A curtain would be good for the sunrise up in the loft. We enjoyed our stay.

We bought this cabin as a vacation get away for family and friends. Since then we've bought another little cabin 5 miles away which we also rent. Our extended family uses the cabin often, so the kitchen is well equipped and the beds are comfy. Jim does real estate consulting, and Ginger teaches workshops on Mail Art. We love to hike and kayak and cook dinners for the family. We have two grown children who live in San Francisco and Oakland.

Ginger purchased this cabin in 2005

This area of Idaho, Wyoming and Montana is just gorgeous. There are so many beautiful areas to visit - mountains, waterfalls, rivers, fields of wildflowers throughout the summer, great snow all winter - you will want to be outdoors every day. Late spring is the best time to see the animals with their new offspring, and October brings the spectacular golden 'quaking' leaves on the aspen trees.

Private secluded area near large ranches.

Charming!!

  • 5 of 5
We stayed at this charming cabin with the beautiful view of the
Tetons for 4 nights. We came expecting spring skiing and got some fabulous powder instead! The location is perfect ......... halfway between Driggs and Targhee ski area. There is a Xcountry ski track and library right around the corner. The cabin is cozy with a wonderful decor. The kitchen is well equipped. We had a fabulous dinner in Driggs at Teton Thai. And, the creamery a couple doors down was still open at 10 pm because they were in the back making cheese ...... so we were able to get their ice cream for dessert. It was a magical place and we hated to leave!! We love the quiet side of the Tetons!

Perfect family get away

  • 5 of 5
We discovered Driggs, while on our summer vacation. We travelled from Los Angeles to Helena, Montana. The Alta Bocce Cabin was the highlight of our trip! Close to Teton National Park, the Teton River, and numerous other outdoor activities. The pictures don't do this place justice. The view is phenomenal and the cabin is so beautiful. Truly a special place!

Beautiful Comfortable Place, and Responsive Helpful Owner!

  • 5 of 5
My wife and I were visiting the area from NH, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this place. It is beautiful, comfortable, and very clean inside. The setting is also beautiful, surrounded by woods on three sides, and vast fields on the fourth side, with views of the mountains in the distance. I found myself walking out on the rear deck regularly, since the natural setting there, and the birds and flowers, were beautiful, as were the skies in this whole area of the country. The owner was very responsive and cooperative in our email exchanges.

fantastic property and even better hosts

  • 5 of 5
We loved our time in the Alta cabin and wish we could have stayed longer. The view to the east includes 2 sliding doors and all glass above it, and steps out onto a very large deck, so soaking in the views is automatic. The cabin is probably the best stocked and arranged of any villa we've stayed in - all the kitchenware and bathware you'll ever need, and very well cleaned as well. The fridge is enormous, the dishwasher is very quiet, and the electric stove works a treat. The sleeping was excellent too, although worth noting that if you use the loft bed the light will come in quite early in summer. In addition, the owners were extremely quick to respond to querying emails (wifi password, place for coffee, etc.), and handled a minor technical problem for us with high speed and a great customer focus, all with a bright positive attitude. The only minor knock we can think of is that the lawn mower started a little bit early for us one morning, which is not much of a complaint.

Very highly recommended, we'd like to come back soon.

Owner's Response: Glad you had a good time. The light in the loft is the sun streaming through the upper windows with a magnificent Teton view! We have asked the lawn service to mow after 11 am in the future. Thanks for the feedback!
