WINTER SPECIALS: Stay two nights and get a third night free, or stay two night midweek for just $100/night. Please see our website at Rainiercottages.com for details.

Welcome to Vine Maple House, a pet friendly cabin just outside the southwest entrance to Mt. Rainier National Park. We offer guests luxurious accommodations surrounded by the serenity of the beautiful pacific northwest wilderness. Vine Maple House sleeps four guests, with a king-size log bed in the bedroom, and a queen sleeper sofa in the living room. The large, jetted hot tub, just off the back deck will become your new, favorite place to relax. Our master bedroom features a mural of Mount Rainier, painted by the retired park ranger who built the house in 1992.

This cabin is a great place for couples, families, and groups of friends to stay while exploring the Cascade Mountains, Mount Rainier, and Mt. St. Helens. After a long day of hiking, come home to a long soak in a jetted hot tub under a canopy of fir, cedar, and maple trees.

About Tammi Thomas

I grew up on the North side of the Mountain in Enumclaw. I have always enjoyed the outdoors, and try to instill this love of nature in my four kids, 'dragging' them on all manner of outdoor adventures from backpacking to white water rafting. I manage four vacation rental cabins in the Ashford area, with a fifth cabin being remodeled this summer, 2014. I remodeled my first cabin in 2007, opening for business in 2008. I fell in love with the Ashford area as a teen. The hiking, biking and the wildlife kept me coming back each year, until I could finally purchase a cabin of my own. Currently my teenage boys both work on the cabins as well, helping with the remodel, cleaning, and maintenance. This is a small family business, and we work very hard to make sure our guests enjoy each and every visit to the Mountain.

Tammi Thomas purchased this cabin in 2008

What makes this cabin unique

The area that Vine Maple sits in is quiet and serene. Surrounded by large firs, maples, cedars and hemlocks the deer walk undisturbed in this safe place just outside the park gates. You are able to walk easily to the river and explore the raging Nisqually, and that make a stay at Vine Maple House extra special.

Wonderful Escape

  • 5 of 5

This cabin was perfect for my boyfriend and me to enjoy a quiet one on one escape. The hottub was clean and perfect for relaxing after adventuring around Paradise and the proximity to the river and park entrance was awesome. We cannot wait to return and do more hiking with my dog. We had everything we needed and more and the manager was also very helpful and knowledgable about the area. When you visit don't forget to stop by Copper Creek Inn for a delicious blackberry pie (my boyfriends favorite) or a chilled glass of PNW Blackberry wine! (My fave). All in all a wonderful escape from our crazy lives.

Wonderful place to get away!

  • 5 of 5

We loved this cute and cozy cabin for our girls getaway weekend! All the touches of home. In a quiet and peaceful neighborhood. The bed was very comfortable. Everything was clean. We felt right at home. They even allow long distance calls so we could check on our kids. This cabin had everything we needed, plus a few extras to make us feel welcome, like coffee, cocoa, and cider. The only minor complaints we had were that the couch is not comfortable, and there weren't enough towels supplied. There's a hot tub, so we needed extra towels, and didn't feel like there was enough. But that's it! Everything else was fabulous, and we'll definitely be returning!

Cozy, everything you need, attentive owner

  • 5 of 5

Cute and cozy cabin with everything you need. Extra towels for hot tub so you could have a fresh towel for shower was appreciated. Outdoor fire pit with chairs, and hot tub were great additions to enjoy the beautiful surroundings.

Upon arrival there was trash everywhere in the driveway as an animal had gotten into it. We called Tami and left her a message. She was there promptly to clean it up. She definitely takes pride in the property and making her guests feel comfortable and at home. We also had some questions during and after our booking. She responded to emails very promptly.

Would definitely stay here again.

Very clean except the hot tub cover was not put on properly we cleaned it as best we could with the skimmer. The mattress was very comfortable so we got really good nites sleep. There were very friendly neighbors and very pleasent to see all the deer that came thru the property and got to feed them. Overall it was great for a relaxing vacation and for our 2 "4" legged "kids"!

Hot Tub Soothes Aching Hiking Muscles!

  • 5 of 5

Wonderful little retreat in the woods....the jacuzzi revived us every evening to go back and climb mountains the next day. The campfire ring was wonderful too! I look forward to staying here again, for sure. Great location right outside the Nisqually Gate to Mt. Rainier Nat'l Park. One rather bizarre thing, however. The master bedroom has two small "windows" - finished off holes in the wall - that look into the living room, where the sleepsofa is. Privacy while sleeping in this little cabin is not possible!
