This cottage is located on a very private property that is close to the Historic Sonoma Square and over 20 wineries. It is a seperate unit that is located on the vineyard so you can sit on your patio and watch the grapes grow right before your eyes.

This quiet cottage is located on a beautifully landscaped private property within minutes of the Historic Sonoma Square. It has everything you will need to make your Sonoma stay one to remember. There is a kitchenette, living area with t.v., bathroom, and bedroom area with a lovely back patio set within a vineyard just outside the doors from the bedroom area in the cottage. The cottage is convieniently located very close to ten worldclass wineries, boutique shopping at the Historic Sonoma Square as well as restaurnts, picncing, delis, museums, bike rentals, hiking and biking trails and a wonderful historic movie theater. You may choose to eat out at the many choices you will have for restarunts or eat in at the cottage and use the barbeque on the patio overlooking the vineyard.

Included with your stay are coupons for the Wine Walk tasting room around the historic square that gives you your experience for free or 2 for 1 nominal charge. Guests report that they have a lot of fun doing this. We know we sure enjoy it as well!

Your options for picnics are endless as the square and many of the wineries here are set up for you to enjoy this activity.

Don't miss the history of the area with the Bear Flag statue commemorating California's independence from Mexico. Also the 21st Mission de San Francisco that is on the corner of the east side of the square with the gorgeous chapel and interesting grounds and the military barracks across the street on Spain St.

Jack London State park is just 15 to 20 minutes away on a beautiful drive to Glen Ellen. Great hikes under fabulous trees and the history of one of Americas most famous authors with his writing of 'Call of the Wild'.

You have many famous wine growing regions at your finger tips here. Sonoma Valley, Napa Valley, The Carneros Valley, Dry Creek, Alexander Valley with endless wineries in each.

Sonoma is within 45 minutes drive of three international airports and within 20 minutes of Marin and Napa Counties. Napa Valley is just 15 minutes away for even more famous wineries and tastings. Mendocino County to the north is a wonderful one day coastal trip. The Sonoma Valley is one of the most beautiful in wine country and the world. It's no wonder the area is referred to as the Valley of the Moon.

Relax and enjoy your stay as you experience this little slice of heaven in the wine country.

We have been residents of Sonoma for 12 years and Joie is a native Californian. Bart is from Balitimore, Md. but is truely transplanted to the west coast and Sonoma now. We love living in Sonoma and making the cottage available to others to visit this special area. We look forward to your visit!

Joie Malpass purchased this cottage in 2006

SONOMA is well known for it's friendly and welcoming atmosphere and that attracted us to live in this community. There is a Tuesday night Farmers Market in the Spring and summer that is fune for all and we came to live here and enjoy friends, food, and of course wine and this is why we have the cottage for others to share this amazing area with them. Come and find out how fun it is to enjoy this area!

You will experience the wonderful FEELING OF WINE COUNTRY that is very hard to describe until you come and experience it for yourself. Relaxing in the cottage or on the back patio in the vineyard while you sip a glass of wine and enjoy the discoveries or your day and what you have learned at all the fun wineries is priceless.

ABSOLUTELY PERFECT IN EVERY WAY!

  • 5 of 5
We had the most amazing week at Joie and Bart's beautiful cottage. First, Joie and Bart are amazing hosts and provide everything you would want for a quiet getaway in an absolutely beautiful environment that they have created. We were so fortunate to have spent a little time with them and experience what special people they are too.
We rented bikes (twice), from Good Times Touring (Doug brings the bikes and picks them up and is super friendly and helpful).
We just can't saw enough about our experience.
Thank you Joie and Bart!

A VERY SPECIAL PLACE FOR OUR ANNIVERSARY

  • 5 of 5
My wife and I wanted someplace special for our anniversary and we found it in this cottage. Nestled away in a quiet location among grapes and visited by hummingbirds. The cottage is comfortably and tastefully decorated and extremely warm and cozy. Close to downtown Sonoma and the square. Close to Highway 12 and all those wineries. The reservation process was easy and Joie is great at quick and friendly replies to questions. A definite two thumbs up and we WILL return. Thanks for a memorable trip.

GREAT

  • 5 of 5
This place is wonderful. Joie and Bart are very friendly and extremely helpful with the best spots in Sonoma to visit, The cottage is located at the end of a beautiful country road with beautiful houses everywhere. A little over a mile from the square, forget about driving and ride your bikes (bring them for the trip). California's oldest winery (Buena Vista) is right up the road from the cottage and there are great places to taste and eat in the square (Highway 12, Roche, The Red Grape, Hop Munk, and La Casa). The bed was more comfy than our bed @ home. You cannot beat the price either. Stay here and you will be very happy.

Side note - The cottage is attached to a smaller cottage so you will share a wall with a neighbor. Just F.Y.I

AWESOME ACCOMMODATIONS

  • 5 of 5
We stayed at Joie and Bart's cottage for 3 nights in April 2013. We were made to feel welcome. Joie and Bart are very gracious hosts. Everything was exactly as described and the photos on the website reflect what you get. The towels and linens were plush and luxurious. The cottage was immaculate. The bed was very comfortable. The kitchette was well stocked and clean as was the outdoor grill. It was a very short drive to Sonoma town center which has plenty of parking and things to do. There are also many wineries that are a short drive as well. Absolutely, positively sign up for Bart's Wine 101 when you book your stay here. It was interesting, informative, entertaining, and enjoyable. We would not hesitate to re-book here.

BEAUTIFUL COTTAGE AMONG THE VINEYARDS

  • 5 of 5
This cottage was the perfect location for my wife and I to stay during our visit to Sonoma. It is close to so many wineries and yet at the end of the day seemed so private and secluded. We especially enjoyed having our morning coffee while sitting right next to our own private vineyard. We can't recommend this cottage enough and would not hesitate to book it again for ourselves.

EXCELLENT CHOICE FOR YOUR STAY IN SONOMA!!

  • 5 of 5
My husband and I just returned from our stayed at Joie and Bart's beautiful Sonoma cottage for our 1 year anniversary. We were extreamly pleased with the accomodations. I was a little nervous about renting since it was such an important vacation for us but our expectations were definitely surpassed. The location is perfect and the scenery is beautiful. The King room itself is very nice, modern and well kept.

We also took part in their wine 101 class which was really great! It was very informative and helpful as well as fun. Definitely worth doing.

I would highly reccomend this property to anyone!

PS- we loved their adorable dog Cheyenne!
